Laminating Pouches, coloured paper for printer and envelopes as best stationary buys as well as 2009 diary. Best toiletry this week is twin packs of Mens deoderant or Deo +Shower gel- but watch out for heads for electric toothbrushes -I have grabbed packs of these twice in latter months...normally £12.00 for pack in chemists.

just been into out local poundland and got:

100ml assorted colgate toothpastes - 2 for a £1 (the herbal one is lovely)

this is now cheaper than home bargains, but the toothbrushes are still cheaper in HB at 39p each, rather than 2 for £1.

20m aluminium foil (again slightly cheaper than HB)

4 pack cadburys fruit + nut

    OH got Birdfeeder/house too

On a birdfeeding note, the birds love the half coconut shells filled with suet/seeds etc which so far i have found cheapest at HB for 69p.

The large bottle of Carex shower cream is very good value at 500ml.
I like the honey and coca butter one.I was worried it might be a one off stock. But looks like a keeper.
Lasts a long time, not sure how much normally costs.
I get the walker crisp which have extra 50% 9packs
My son loves the jelly pencils
Some times they get branded hair dye, i have tried the foregin ones ( no good)
Baby goods like the soothes, cups, plates, bibs and bowls. I got a nice miffy set for my friend.
    Simpson ps2 controller.
Childrens drinks sports bottle can cost about £3 else where
Rubber door mats, the rubber dots which made the pattern starts to come off!
The sony, kodak or panasonic batteries are good value.
A smile and manners doesnt cost any thing
  • I go to poundland every single day! Its on the way home from work, and they sell everything. Im into my branded toiletries. The other day I found the Clearasil Ultra facewash - costs £5.49 in boots! Seeing that i spend so much on this stuff i bought 5! And they had the lynx shower gel - bought 3! and they had a rescue oil, which is the same as bio oil that costs like 8.99!

The good thing about poundland is that they are always bringin in new stuff, but watch out for shampoos and things you use on a regular basis as they may not sell it anymore. So if you really like it, buy like 10!
  • Just wanted to add from my last post - some items are worth a pound - meaning cheap. i bought a new bike, and bought a light pack. fell apart as soon as i opened it. changed it 2 times! same thing. some stuff is really cheaply made. i would say poundland is brilliant for toiletries and food and cleaning products (careful as some of them leak!). in the summer i pimped up my balcony with garden things. i bought like 10 solar lights. missus thought i was planning to setup a space station to attract aliens! Lol. Again as like i said before - some of them worked, some of them didnt.

Bought a bike lock. So secure that one can open it by pulling it. recently they got done for labelling things heavy duty, this was one of them.

Today i bought a glade auto spray = releases one shot of spray every 5 mins. cost like 8 quid in tescos! i bought 7 refills for it. refills cost 2.49 in asda. also bought clearasil toner lotion. dont ask how many i bought! We all should as we spend heaps on these things in boots and other places.
  • Hello Everyone!

I always pop into Poundland whenever I'm in town - some good bargins to be had :D

My best buys have been some black standard belts which are perfect for a normal suits. HDMI cables - due to the fact that it is a digital signal, shielding and the purity of the contacts doesn't matter. I've seen Currys selling them for £129!! As long as the connection is solid they are good :)

Bad buys have been a travel bag (I've seen some others have had the same experience), a usb hub - although this is a balance between the cost and how long it works. It its only USB 1 then the price of 5 * £1 hubs still isn't near a brand name hub.

For a huge City like Bristol...we dont have a Poundland

We do have other pound shops but no Poundland here :(

Wanted to get some of the Cow & Gate baby food.....

I know use to drive me mad.

Swindon I think would be the nearest.

I would also love home bargains in Bristol as well as they are fab.

  • Poundland - 3 packs of Maryland Double Choc cookies for £1 :)
  • I got loads of Simple toiletries from there. Got a few of each and made a bath set that contained Shampoo, conditioner, showergel, showercream, bath foam & handwash. So gift sets for this chrimbo are costing about £6 if I'm throwing the 6 bottles in as I have rellies that like Dove to, but the same Simple bottles from supermarkets where I am are retailing at £2, so I should be spending £12 for these same 6 bottles I'm getting from poundland. It makes me wonder how much profit Dove and the like make on their gift sets that are a £10er + that have only 3 or 4 things in.

    Oh I love poundland :D
    O
  • be careful with some items eg toothpaste, hairspray as these are cheaper elsewhere, e.g. at Savers.
