I think their bulbs/tubers and shrubs are amazing value. I have two large tubs full of their lily bulbs and in high summer they are beautiful. For last Spring/early Summer I planted up a tub of Gloxinia tubers and it looked amazing. All my daffodils, tulips, snowdrops and anemone came from there too. A riot of colour for £1 a bag, you can't go wrong!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

I LOVE my local Poundland although you do have to be quite selective about what you buy....some of the stuff I've bought recently....
Pregnancy tests x 3....we actually use these type at the hospital where I work so I know they're reliable....
Compeed blister plasters....these are about £5 a pack in Boots.....
Christmas cards, gift wrap, ribbons, bows etc....not always good quality but some are quite good...or quirky and good for "bulk" buys (as in not one's for your nearest and dearest)...maybe for kid's classmates, colleagues etc...
Craft stuff...these are quite good....bought stuff for my nieces to make pictures with....also card toppers and embellishments for those crafters out there.....
Some of the make-up and toiletries are good but you do have to go regularly and if you see something you want...get it there and then as they're not around for long.....
Silicone bakeware....these are brilliant and I've bought quite a few bits...got a silicone loaf tin a while back....saw a similar one in a large dept store a fortnight later for £12.99...absolute bargain!!!
The main rule of thumb is to go fairly regularly and get stuff you want when you see it as it might not be there next time....
Happy shopping...:money:0 -
Computer items/accessories - fab. My daughter has an Apple Mac laptop and needed a mouse - she was told only to use Apple Mac (You can guess the price) Hey Presto - poundland to the rescue!! It works perfectly.
Also cookware and bakeware are good buys.0 -
I've just read a much earlier post and wanted to make the point that at Poundland (don't know about other places) EVERYTHING is a pound-even if there is a higher price ready printed on the packaging. We have such a high turnover of stock we don't have time to cover-up the manufacturers price. But trust me you will only ever pay £1 at the checkout-UNLESS it's been reduced to 75p or 50p!!!! (our computerised tills only have the three price options-£1 or 25p and 50p discounts).0

I love Poundland and I am pleased there is a mini fan club for it here on MSE.
Regular purchases for us are:
Pure face wipes - 2 packs for £1
Arm and Hammer toothpaste
8x Fat balls for the birdies
Tetley teabags - 100
Double pack of Cadbury's Fingers
Radox Deodorant
Have also got a few nice things for my Christmas hampers. Have taken a chance with one or two things as they looked nice but also managed to get some 'known' brands. Got lovely boxes of chocolate liqueurs and 4 packs of shortbread for £1.
