Hope that you all have a lovely time to-morrow, will expect to see pics when you get round to it.
Was feeling bad that I couldn't go but as the &l**dy ash would have stopped me anyway I'm glad that I hadn't made plans and got all excited!
Maybe the next time.....

Just back from a very enjoyable afternoon in Blackheath - the sun was shining and the tea was flowing!:T- it was a lovely nostalgic place - it was so nice to meet Ivyleaf for the first time:hello:(and see everyone else!:D:D)
Thanks to Annie123 for the selection of seeds and tomato/sweet pepper plants and Caterina for the cook book and seeds- hope they all grow (mind you my gardening skills are sadly lacking but we shall see)
It was lovely to meetup with MrCaterina as well and LilacLillie - good luck with the crochet samples -wow- was that green wool amazing!
Time to get on with cooking the dinner - ah well !May you fill up the great clutterbucket of life and may all of your leaks be in cheese sauce
Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without:cool:0 -
Hi all
Thanks for all of you who came along (Purpleclutterbuck, Ivyleaf, Annie123, LilacLillie and my very own Mr Caterina!) and regrets that some of you who would have liked to meet up could not make it.
We had a lovely time, the weather was perfect to sit in the beautiful little garden, it was peaceful and pleasant and great to spend an afternoon with good friends, sipping tea, eating cakes and talking OS stuff. We exchanged goodies (thank you all for bringing your things along, see Purpleclutterbuck's post above), we have already planted the purple carrot seeds and tomorrow first thing the tomatoes and sweet pepper will find a place of honour on our South facing windowsill. In the next few days I shall go through all the sewing magazines. Life is sweet when you have friends!
Everybody was really excited at the idea of having a fish and chip lunch at the Lewisham venue that LilacLillie and I go sometimes.
Please let me know what day of the week would be suitable for a nice lunch (after 7th May as I shall be visiting family in Italy until then). Early-ish necessary (12 noon or so) because the place gets seriously busy from around 12:30 for lunch.
Marie, that ash cloud is SOOOOO an excuse, there is a perfectly viable ferry and train combi that takes you from Dublin Busaras to London Euston in a day! Tut-tut...but will you come out for a fish and chips lunch? Stay over for a few days with me? xxx
Purpleclutterbuck, that yarn was YELLOW not green! LOL
Savvy_Sue, great to see you online after a long time, please let me know when you plan to be in London and I shall try to work a meeting date around your stay, even if it means just for a coffee!
IOIWE Hope to see you at the next one, same for Icey77 and any other who missed it - Savingforoz, fancy another trip to London? You don't have to have the fish, they make a lovely salad and also very nice fresh mushy peas (and the chips are REAL potato!).
Love to all xxxFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Ooooh Caterina...just booked Sardinia from 30th May to 9th June so will miss you there too....may go to see your Mamma instead!
Glad everyone had a good time to-day, have to inspect my son's new apartment in NW1 at some stage so will try to work it into a visit.

You, of course, should be in Italy at that point! How are you hoping to get there?Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Had a lovely time yesterday, forgotten how nice the garden is there, sitting in the sun drinking tea and scoffing cake:D
Ivyleaf...I took 3 mags home and spent ages reading them, DD came in from work and has already had one of the patterns out, rummaged through my fabrics and will be making herself a top:D This from a girl who said dressmaking was old fashioned! so you may have started something there
PCB...Thank you for the seed, will be planted today.:D
I forgot to ask you for your carrot soup recipe, I made some after the last meet up and it wasn't as nice as yours? is it posted on mse somewhere?
LL....You've got me thinking now about quilt making, I loved yours and was looking at my bedroom and I hope to get one made for my bed before winter, and yes I will be doing it by machine. Will also try learning to crochet too:D
Caterina...Seeds planted, and started reading the book last night, and thank you for the website, really interesting, will keep a close eye on it
and nice to see Mr Caterina too....thank you for the tea:D
Hope you both have a lovely time in Italy.
Look forward to the next one
Its a lovely day so off out into the garden now, much more interesting than housework;)0 -
Hi all
Marie, awwww if I had known earlier you were going to be in Sardinia later in May I would have adjusted my plans. Never mind, I shall have to pop into Dublin (not like I need an excuse LOL) to see you!
Savvy_Sue, I am sure that there will be plenty of takers if you organise a London meet, but hope to see you at future meets, too! If another Bristol one is organised I shall make sure I come over as always.
Annie123, LilacLillie, Purpleclutterbuck, Ivyleaf: Seeds and plants safely in earth and pots, thank you! Next time we meet we might be able to do a produce swap! Please remind me to bring along a crochet hook and yarn so we can all have a crochet session after the fish and chips LOL
Just found that I have some heritage seeds (Inca pea bean) if you want a few please let me know and I shall post you a few.
Love to all

Love to all xxxI always fancy a trip to London, I always enjoy it and it would be lovely to see everyone - but I wouldn't be able to make a weekday due to work. However, I am sure I can come to one of the weekend meets before I go away, no problem.
Glad everyone had a good time!Life is not a dress rehearsal.0 -
Well, we will have to do a weekday AND a weekend meet in the next few months then! Nothing like an excuse to meet old and new friends! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0

Pic of the finished item.
I couldn't wait till next week to be told how to do it, so have finished it off with common sense.
Whatever I'd shown them at my class they would have said it wasn't right.
I'm very happy that I have produced something that resembles a patchwork quilt, am going to make a start on next one Wednesday.
LLWe are all in the gutter but some of us are looking at the stars........................0
