Thanks IOIWE but I can get the Chiltern Express from Chorleywood to Marylebone and then jump on the Bakerloo all the way down to LN without having to change.

Steps are good exercise anyway - I intend to throughly enjoy the party I'm going to later ;)

if it's not wet how about middle of the guns and if wet just outside the entrance?

Good thinking IOIWE! Seconded. Wearing a visible safety pin, of course, so we do not get mixed up with the WI or other groups visiting:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Edited to say, just read that JackieO is not able to join us, sorry we won't see you but hope you enjoy a good day with your DGS. See you at the next one, hopefully!
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Hi folks. Just thinking about the Os meet and getitng some things that I have no use for together to share out and pass onto others who might appreciate them more- I have some Boots tester stuff I'd never use and some sachets. Also have some books.

Was wondering if anyone would be interested in jiffy bags. Maybe someone who sells on ebay or who does crafts etc. I have a lot of them going spare esp the ones that my Boots stuff comes in that wouldnt be any use to me as I only reuse mine for book selling and books wont fit most of the time.

Or am I being a complete tramp/peasant bringing all this stuff?

I don't think so, sadly I can't relieve you of any of the items but I'm sure someone would be interested.

The museum might have a cloakroom or lockers to hold this whilst we ohhh and ahhhh over the exhibition :D

Nothing wrong with tramps and peasants, Reverbe! Both probably live much more frugally and happily than all the money- and resources-wasters in the world!

In any case, the answer is no, you are not being a tramp or peasant by bringing things to share, you are being kind and generous! In any case, we always do this at OS meets, one brings books, another vouchers, etc...it is a great to be part of the OS movement!

Looking forward to this event very very much now!

I've just checked with the museum - there are cloakroom facilities for coats and small bags. Also there is a picnic area/school trip lunch room that should be empty (ish) on a Saturday that will suit us down to the ground :)

  • I wish I could come. Sadly I have a back problem at the mo and even standing is causing some problems. I hope you all have a fantastic time and look forward to all the tales and maybe some piccies?

Alison Funnell, so sorry to hear about your bad back, I am sure that the more photo-talented of us will post pictures like for the past meetings (I am totally photo-challenged so cannot promise this myself!).

There will be other events, don't worry - as the spring and summer come I think it will be great to try and organise a picnic, no?

Only 3 days to go (and my birthing woman hasn't even had a twinge yet - cross fingers!)!!!
