Hi Vouchersrme,
I have had feedback from other OSers that it might not be a good idea to meet on a Saturday just before Christmas in IKEA, it might be pandemonium! If I can get another couple of people interested I shall still go ahead but if not I shall cancel and arrange a day in January (the sales!).
Please keep checking xxFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Vouchersrme it is happening! I have another person interested and I thought, yes let's make it happen, even if tiny, even in the pre Christmas rush, it will be fun as always! Added your name and the other person to the first post. See you on the day! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0

BUMP, it is happening, is anybody else interested? I have a few maybes. Vouchersrme are you still up for it? I shall definitely be there, probably knitting and wearing a safety pin on my jumper (the internationally recognised badge of the OSer). Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0

CANCELLED
Really sorry but I am cancelling.
I had a few maybes and very poor response and I think it is better to give up, it is not the right time just before Christmas.
Sorry Vouchersrme and Amy, I hope to see you at future meets in the New Year. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -

As promised, I am resurrecting the old thread for the London OS meetups. We used to have such a great time in those meetups, we went to a lot of nice places, including the Imperial War Museum for the Make Do and and Mend exhibition, pubs, cafes, fish and chip shops, lots of lovely places and memories and I have made lifelong friends through these meetups. Just browse the thread to see all we have been up to!
I stopped organising them because I had too much on my plate, but I am happy to restart and would love to get together with old and new friends from this thread.
My best day for meetups is Wednesday and the best area for me is South East London, but if anyone has any better idea I would be happy to travel.
One of the best locations we found is the I.K.E.A restaurant in Croydon, as it is very large, got lots of table space for our crafts and swaps, free coffee and tea (with family card, which is free to join), very cheap meals and we can stay there all day with no fear of being chucked out.
So, my proposal is to meet on Wednesday 18th November at 11 am in the restaurant of I.K.E.A Croydon (Purley Way)..
Please let me know if you can make it or if you would prefer a different venue (but then you need to check for space, availability etc please).
I am amending the first post for info.
I look forward to the first OS meetup of 2015!Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
