Thank you Marie, see you on another occasion, soon I hope.
It was a tiny meet, only 3 of us! Thank you Purpleclutterbuck and Annie123 for coming along, it was great to see you both.
Also, Annie thanks for showing me the quickest way to and from IKEA, it must be the first time I haven't got lost.
Thank you Purpleclutterbuck for the info about white vinegar (apparently it can be petrochemical rather than natural), I am going to check this info very carefully as I would hate it to use nasty stuff thinking I am being all nice and green!
It was also great to discover Dunelm, I might just have found my ideal curtains!
Overall it was a great day for me and I hope you enjoyed it too. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
I'm so envious of those of you who can get to a meet-up

Why don't you organise one in your area, Lilyplonk, all you need is a few people willing to meet in a cafe, pub, community centre, I really recommend it.
You know, when you talk to people about your OS lifestyle, a lot of them yawn, go blank, laugh at you....well, this not only does not happen in the meet ups, but you find people who really know what you are talking about, who share ideas and tips with you...it is really like a homecoming! Good luck with it.Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -

Dear OS friends,
I am trying again to see if there is any interest for an OS get together before Christmas. I always enjoy meeting likeminded people at these reunions and everybody seems to have a lot of fun, exchanging ideas, books, vouchers and crafts, plants and seeds, anything that anyone cares to bring along.
How about meeting on a Satuday early lunchtime at the IKEA In Croydon, before the mad Christmas rush? This is what I propose:
Saturday 13th December 2014, 11am at the IKEA restaurant in Croydon
There are large tables at the back of the restaurant so enough space to bring bits and pieces to swap. The food is cheap and although the tea and coffee are not free on the weekend the refills are unlimited.
Please let me know if you are interested by replying in this thread. I shall update the first post too. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
