I would have loved to have come but I'm at work till mid afternoon this Friday. Used to live near blackheath so know the place you are meeting at. Have a great time though, will try and make the next one.

What a pity you cannot make it topsyturphy, but yes please keep an eye for future meets, will be probably organising a November one but likely to be in the Croydon IKEA.

But we tend to meet almost every month, there are a few of us regulars, sometimes the meets are only 3-4 people but other times we have had many more. Always great fun.

Hope to see you at one of the next ones. x

    Speaking of which:

Anybody interested in a late November meet at IKEA Croydon? On a Saturday, from 11am (to get an early table at the restaurant), I would be happy to go on Sat 23rd or Sat 30th November.
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
  • Sorry I cannot be there, have a good time.

Thank you dear friends for yet another small but perfectly formed SE London OS meet!

Purpleclutterbuck, Lilac Lillie, Annie123, Dippy Pud and I really enjoyed ourselves chatting about this and that, families, crafts, the usual stuff. Yet, we never get bored, we always have something to say to ech other. These meetings always feel like a homecoming!

Looking forward to the next one, hoping that more OSers take the plunge and join us, it is really worth it. For me, as I told DP as we walked to the bus stop, it is that sense of being really understood, how we can talk of things that civilians (non OSers) find bizarre and a waste of time, or just plain silly and old fashioned. And we always have a good laugh, sometimes at the expense of our DHs or kids, but that's because we are all mums! Unmarrieds and non-parents, don't let this put you off!

Ok, waiting for a few response re. November meet at Croydon IKEA on the penultimate or last Saturday in November, then I shall fix a date.

    See you all soon!

I'm glad you are having nice meets! Too far for me and London area a nightmare to travel around especially if you're not sure where to go. What about one in Lincolnshire?! :D

That would involve travelling north of the River Thames, I get lost after that point and I've lived in London for 50 years :rotfl:

Had a lovely time today, good cup of tea for 75p :D Looking forward to Ikea next month.

Fran, good to see you after so long, how are you? It would be great if you could make one of our meets, you know the way to my home and you know you are always welcome to crash out here for the night! Then from my home I can show you the way to the meet - no excuses! See you soon I hope!

Hello OSers old and new! *dusting the thread cobwebs*

After an absence of a few months I am returning to the fold and thinking that there is nothing like an OS meet to renew my commitment to going back to looking after the pennies!

So if you are one of the old meet up posse, or if you have never been to a meet up, this is the time to do it, during this glorious London summer!

I propose to have a meet in the Croydon IKEA cafe, where we can have cheap food and - if we decide to meet during the week - free hot drinks (with the family card). Spacious tables and natural light if anyone wants to bring crafts.

Will you please let me know what day is best for you, as long as it us before 7th August (after that date I am busy busy busy)?
