Electronic Cigarette

It was mentioned on one of the earlier pages but I thought I'd mention it again - there is a very good forum at http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/
You should find all the information you need to know right there.
I've been using an electronic cigarette for around two months now and my smoking of regular cigs (rollies) has gone down from 40+ per day to around 4 or 5 per day, with occasional days where I smoke none at all.
My mum is very anti-smoking, and she doesn't mind me using the electronic cig in her house at all when I visit as it doesn't give off any nasty smells.

That should help Racyred's question - when you smoke them, you sort of smell them too - its only the non smokers that can tell, I think. But I am just a beginner!
I find I tend to 'belch' a bit after having some puffs of e cig - not ladylike! Anyone else have this problem?? Or is it just me ...Genie

Jeannie, you know I love you really
You can't blame me for feeling that I'm Scotch mist *yowl*
Honestly, the little eBay group (well, it was very little when I joined but we've got 302 members now!!!) is the friendliest place you can imagine, lots of hugs and never "don't ask silly questions". In this thread there only seem to be inexperienced vapers, who are to be congratulated but haven't quite been right through the mill like some of us.
My advice has been "Go for it". There is no way anyone can really understand what e-cigs are about and how they work from third-party descriptions, so I say "If you are desperate even to want to give up smoking (many of us couldn't take that first step cos we did not want to even though we knew we needed to) and can write off about £40+ ... buy a starter kit + a few carts and juice and join the eBay group.
I'll copy a couple of posts from there if I can find them.............. well, here's ONE:
Hello,
PLEASE don't give up with the E-Cig. It really IS a fiddly business and most of us have had failing batteries, vaporisers and 'yucky' tasting carts along the way. Buying juice (to fill the carts) is the next step I promise you.
I never even considered giving up smoking 4 months ago yet gave it a go after reading the success stories on here.
I am now almost 3 months fag-free. I do not mis smoking. I swim twice a week, my taste buds are back to normal. My lungs are so recovered now that I can walk 4 hours without gasping. My 17 year old niece even struggled to keep my walking pace yesterday after going to the cinema and walking home.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't give up vaping. Come back here for help and advice.
Good Luck!
Unfortunately, that post wasn't by ME... swimming? walking for 4 hours?

Think I have been 'sucking' too hard too.......
Just had one of those overfilled cartridges - eugh ! i did try to blot some of the nicotine out with some kitchen roll -didnt work ! -recharged the battery - worked a treat.0 -
Always can rely on Veronarona to come back with some useful advice!
I've had only two real fags today!!!!! So far - and that is with a cartridge that I don't like the taste of that much!
Think this could really help me - and thought I was a lost cause...
Veronarona - I appreciate the link to other forum - but my time is so limited that it suits me if have link on here as am on here anyway - well most nights .... for a an hour or so... if that makes sense ...Genie

Yes it does make sense, Jeannie - I don't allow for others actually having a life to get on with
Also, I don't know if I've offered this piece of advice before, but "Only count the fags you DON'T smoke, not the ones you do". There's absolutely no pressure with e-cigs, just faff around with them until, hopefully, you'd rather "smoke" them than the real thing.
And another also, I hope many of you will understand that I am passionate (how I hate that overused word!) about them because of the miracle of me, a 50-year heavy smoker, coming off tobacco. It can't be real :T
Light smokers may not have the motivation to continue the required "faffing" because there's not much at stake for them. It's not their fault, they're just less damaged people in the first place :cheesy:

I'm really interested in these. Not for me but for my boyfriend he just can't seem to give up. I gave up when I was pregnant and now I can smell it on him I hate it. How would you feel if someone bought you one as a gift - would you feel annoyed or like they were pressurising you?? I was going to buy one off ebay but what is the best? I am really worried about his long term health xx0

However, if he has been talking about/trying to give up, then it might be a really nice suprise. If you are going to buy then I would recommend the DSE901 model. I buy all my stuff from http://www.e-cigs.co.uk/ (I'm not affiliated with them in any way, other than as a customer.) The starter kits come with one atomiser, two batteries, a battery charger and a few cartridges. If he seems keen, then you might want to add another atomiser (they can just die without warning), plus some "juice" to top up the cartridges. If you buy from the website I mentioned, then both the batteries and the atomisers come with a 30 day guarantee - and I can vouch that the website owner does honour that guarantee and will send out a pre-paid envelope for the return of the faulty item.

I always recommend the same seller as JoolsZ for reliability and service. However, if you need to save a few bob, OK Smokey (eBayer brummy_george) seems to have treated Jeannie well so far and his starter kits are packaged more impressively (as you want it for a present). If you order via eBay and pay by PayPal you'll have full protection against non-delivery.

If I were buying it as a present I'd get a starter kit plus about 20 cartridges and a bottle of juice.
Having said that I did buy a kit for my sister nearly 3 months ago and she's never touched itBut I'd never have forgiven myself if I had not done it.

Oh I am so grateful that you recommended Oksmokey! George has emailed me a number of times - replying to my questions (poor sod, he's probably heard them time and again!). He put in a couple of extra cartrdges for me to try too when I ordered. Mini cig with two batteries etc., ordered on a Sat afternoon and had it early Tuesday morning - cant grumble with that! No charge for postage either.Genie

I do recommend that if you do buy him the kit, charge it up first to save him the aggravation and impatience!! Be light hearted about it, no pressure - nothing worse than pressure being put on s smoker - automatically puts your back up!
Good luck - and let us know how you get on.
