You're right Veronarona it is really difficult to stop something you have done for decades. For me - 29 years a smoker:eek:
Although I enjoyed smoking I always disliked the smell, worried about the health implications and obviously hated the amount of money I was wasting..............
Hopefully e-cigs and vaping are the way forward for me until I can finally quit the nicotine for good.

We may not mention it often enough, but with the different % nicotine juices available it's quite easy, if you're inclined, to gradually reduce the nicotine strength to make is easier to stop vaping as well as smoking
Some vapers, though, love it so much that they carry on with zero nicotine juice, experimenting with cherry, chocolate, absinthe... just to give an idea of the huge range of non-tobacco flavours. Others of us stick with high-nic tobacco, others somewhere in between - it takes all sorts
But we don't need to smoke any more (unless we want to intersperse smoking with vaping, just cutting down).

Delighted to hear how well it's gone for you Fi, especially at this time of year when the temptations to smoke are even greater . . . my first Crimbo as a non smoker, saw myself and friend ( who I've 'converted' to ecigs ) being able to actually sit indoors, vaping and slurping on our mulled wine . . . rather than standing out in a freezing cold garden to get our 'fix'.
Liberation indeed! :T0 -
A belated Happy New year to everyone
And congratulations to Geneva's achievement of first Christmas as a non smoker + to converting a friend0 -
And very well done to Fi (& Mr Fi ;D) & everyone else0

Hi i am looking for some advice, i have tried vaping before but i am now going to get a manual ecig, i have seen the one i want but i am stuck on the nicotine free liquid. I am looking for advice on the best flavours and makes and where to buy from.
Not sure if i am allowed to name the site but the ecig is the 510 titan. Any other recommendations welcome, but it's the push button i am after as the vapor seems to work quicker. Many thanks in advance.:DLife is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away. – Hilary Cooper

You're quite right, IMO, to go for a manual e-cig and the Titan is an OK model - tho' I would have advised you to go for a bigger battery "mod" (modification) if you can drag yourself away from needing a cigarette lookalike, such as a Tornado, Riva or eGo, etc (they're more-or-less clones, we call them "Tornegoriva" as shorthand). You won't have to be charging batteries so often and they give a stronger vape.
As for juices, it's impossible for one user to recommend to another and be confident, we have found our tastes are all so different.
Do come along to http://www.allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/index.cgi - honestly, you will get such a warm welcome from vapers at all stages from newbies onwards. Have a browse (you don't need to register but if you do the site is ad-free). We have discount codes, which is just the thing for an Money Saver

Thankyou for your reply, i didn't read your reply untill after i had ordered, but i am still at the stage where i prefer the slim style, no doubt i will be replying in a few weeks saying i have upgraded
. The one i have ordered is a vast improvement on the one i had last year. I stopped completely for 5 weeks using the ecig i had and can't even remember why i went back to real cigs. This time though i am stopping for different reasons, i am doing it for me not because i am sick of OH complaining (he's one of the lucky people who can take it or leave it and can go for weeks without a cig). I am sick of the house smelling of stale smoke and i look after my grandchildren during the day, i don't smoke in the house when they are here and can go all day on 1 cig but at night time i can go through 10 to 15 cigs. I noticed that when i took some of the grandchildrens clothes to my daughters they smelt of smoke, that make me realise how much i dislike smoking. The cash outlay is also a factor as are the health risks.
As for the furries i have 3, which would you like me to bring, i have a Norwegian Forest, a Ragdoll and a Burmese lookalike. Many thanks again for your reply x
As for housework join the flylady thread on here, it really works, it takes a few weeks to get sorted. But as houses don't get in a mess in a week we don't expect it to get sorted in a week, and decluttering is the key to success. Believe me it's been a godsend and makes life so much easier and stress free. HTHLife is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away. – Hilary Cooper

I found the Fly-thingy thread when I checked out why you'd had so many "Thanks" - am trying to psych myself up to read it properly but the shock of getting stuck in might kill me
Good luck!

Well i got my e cig today:j and thanks to all on the all about e cigs forum i have now only had 1 real cig since it came. Thanks for the link V as it has been such a fountain of knowledge. Being a newbie i didn't know what sort of reaction i would get but all my dumb questions have been answered, it's a lovely forum with a great community spirit.
Hope to eventually not have any nicotine in the e cig juice and just vape/smoke the flavoured juice. It will be lovely not to have the house smelling of stale smoke. Thanks again.:beer:Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away. – Hilary Cooper
