Impy, neither the Milano or Gamucci are highly rated - though they are usually overpriced. I'm guessing the refills your brother got where the prefilled cartridges? If so, they aren't the best or cheapest way to go. refilling cartridges with a good e-liquid (& as Ragjoy says, you can buy it in so many flavours) can make such a difference.
Please folks, as Veronarona says, don't be taken in with some of the adverts you see - especially the "free trial" offers.0 -
just to add i was a total sceptic regarding ecigs.
i gave it a go in january and have not even had a drag since.
you will find the forum so helpful, you will not be treated like a novice.
there are several lovely ladies there who will mum you through it and there happy to do so, if you are thinking about using a ecig go there and read whats there and dont be afraid to ask.
there is no commercial attachment whatsoever, you will always be pointed to the best sellers and best deals.

Thanks for your post veronarona. I wanted to buy my OH a kit for his birthday, but had the dilemma that I'm A. quite skint and B. not entirely sure he'd like it. I've ordered him the compact one so it's no great loss if he doesn't get on with it- here's hoping he does though!0

I failed miserably the last time I tried to quit but I'm thinking of giving it a go again. I still really enjoy smoking though
But I'm fully aware that it's killing me so I'm going to have to start hating it again soon......very soon!
Never argue with an idiot; they'll bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience.0 -
FabSascha, the e-cig is ideal for anyone that does still enjoy smoking. It's such a brilliant alternative. :j0

Hey, I'm interested in getting started. I don't actually smoke loads. How long does each cartridge last, and each bottle of liquid?0
-
Evanesco, some of the more shady sellers will tell you each cartridge lasts the equivalent of 20 real cigs, but that is a huge exaggeration! It's more like 5 cigs maximum.
It works out cheaper to refill your cartridges with e-liquid. If as you say you don't smoke much, then a 30ml bottle of e-liquid could last you a month.0 -
I've just stumbled across this thread whilst browsing MSE with yes you have guessed it a ciggie in my hand and a cuppa as usual, so now i'm off to look for some advice and info on these e cigs, as i cant keep burning at least 30 quid a week on my habit. I've only been smoking for just over 2 years since i had a personal crisis, but really don't feel i can quit.
So i'm off on a fact finding mission now, as i haven't got a clue what i will need but would really like to give one a go as i really think one of these may be just the thing i need.0 -

Thanks, I've been looking on oksmokey and I'm thinking about getting the TT510A travellers pack. Does anyone have any experience with this atomizer? It's got 3 atomizers/batteries, so would do for me and OH. The e-liquids seem to have very good recommendations too. We probably spend £20 a week on tobacco so to change this to £30 a month would be fab.0 -
OK Smokey is a good supplier, if you have any problems with his gear he will not be reluctant to sort them out.
The 510 is a very popular model, but the atomiser may not give quite the oomph of the 901... but it's difficult to say, some vapers prefer the 510.
I don't think that the triple set will be adequate for you and OH - what about when each of your batteries needs re-charging, you'll have to fight over the spare  Now! Two of those sets, and you'd be really set up
Everything you buy now will need to be replaced sooner or later (very difficult to be specific) it's not just juice you will be spending on - but you'll still be better off financially and healthwise than whilst smoking tobacco
