  • I have been looking online for a cheap deal to reglaze glasses but needed my prescription updating. I decided to shun the big four and found an advert for premier vision https://www.premiervision.co.uk. They are based in Yorkshire and had a few good offers on the website but what took my attention was a leaflet in the shop which offered 1.67 lenses in their glasses for £49 ie cheaper than most online stores. i will be getting a couple of pairs from them and will keep you updated.

Just had a look at the site, but can't see anywhere that you can buy their specs online if you already have a prescription. The choice of locations is also very limited. Although the idea of 2 4 1 and split the pairs with a friend and have 1 pair each was a good idea
  • They have a website but are not an "online optician" as such. Many people do not want to buy glasses online because of trust and have doubts about High St. because of price so premier vision seem to be good on both points. Again, I have not bought anything from them yet but will be in the future. I have only found one place online with lenses 1.67 index cheaper.

    Hi,

I have ordered a pair of frames from this website a few days ago.

The pair of Hugo Boss frames I was after were around £140 in visionexpress but this site was doing them for £81 delivered. I checked out a few online sites but www.WebIGlasses.com are definitely the cheapest.

They arrived this morning and no custom charges were asked for.
    Very happy indeed!!!
I don't think they do glazing though.

    Check them out.
  • Hey all,
I'm looking to buy a new pair of glasses after my Ray Ban semi-rimless pair got broken.

Putting thought into it, I found that I was forever getting frustrated by dust and particles being attracted to the lens, as well as dandruff (who doesn't have it these days!) sticking to the back of the lens. My lenses were Transitions V with an anti-scratch, reflect, easy clean multi-coat, bought from an independent optician.

I am looking to buy a pair online, perhaps semi-rimless or rimless, and possibly designer or titanium, and want to know who has the best coatings.

Some opticians offer water repellent coatings, and some have scotch guard anti-static...do any of the online glasses dispensers have these features available?

I have a low prescription (-1 in 1, +1.25 in other) so thinness isn't really a problem, though I'd like maybe a 1.6 index, just to make them lighter.

Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? :)
  • Any idea how this compares to the Anti-Reflect, UV400, Scratch Resistant, Anti-Smudge, Dust Repelling and Water Repelling coating included as standard with selectspecs.com's thin and light lens at a £10 upgrade charge from standard.

Your thin UC/MAR lens does sound good, though it adds another leg to my journey to getting a new pair of specs! Wait for them to come, send them off to you to be glazed...if it'll mean that most/all dirt will rarely settle then I'm all for it!
I've noticed this coating isn't included with transitions though :(
  • Hi, On the hunt for an online optician I found this company: http://www.best4glasses.co.uk/. They state that their complete prescription single vision glasses start from £10, bifocals from £30, and prescription sunglasses from £27.00. Moreover, they have an online Style Assistant to help you choose the most flattering frame shape... Free P+P, and a 'no-quibble' returns policy.

    Hope this is useful

I've just received a pair of glasses back from Cilliaryblue this morning, very impressive service! I bought the frames I wanted on Ebay, then chose the MAR/HC lens option. Sent the frames to Cilliaryblue on Monday, got them today, and they're great. Would certainly recommend.
