I'm sure it's possible! You can have any shape, colour or design you want as long as you can find them!

Seriously, what you describe sounds very much like what most design houses have produced this season - you'll be spoilt for choice.

I was interested in how to buy cheap glasses and found this article. I got an eye test at Dolland and Aitchison in February and also bought my glasses from there; Im now looking to buy some fashionable ones online but was never given a prescription by D&A!
I noticed someone said it is a legal requirement for them to give you a prescription so I wondered what I should do? If they are required to hold it on file am I entitled to ask for a copy or should I write and complain? Very disappointed as D&A are a big chain they should know what they are required to do and fulfill it.

Any tips would be great (otherwise I guess I'll just be getting a new eye test!)

Yep they should give you a copy of your prescription when the test was done, and they will have it on file - you just need to ask for a copy.:D

Hi, hope I'm not posting in the wrong place...

Does anyone know when opticians usually have their sales? Just wondering whether to wait to buy...

    Thanks

Those that are desperate for your business will invariably have a promotion of sorts on all the time.

I agree with nedmundo, you'll find loads on the internet. Try wantglasses.co.uk and spex 4 less. These are the best 2 by far! :money:
Interestingly, the Daily Mail investigated the best and worst of online glasses buying.

Inaccurate use of prescriptions, poor fitting frames and poor customer service were some of the pitfalls highlighted to consumers following a Daily Mail (May 20) trial of buying spectacles on the web.

  • WANTGLASSES, more like want rubbish. Ordered my glasses, took 3 weeks to arrive and when they did, oh my!!! my 3 YEAR OLD COULD HAVE PUT THEM TOGETHER BETTER. One lens was further forward than the other, there was glue on the lens and gaps in the corners. You certainly couldnt go out in them. Definately wouldnt drive in them. Try to contact WANTTAT and no reply to emails, phonecalls etc. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. YES THEY MAYBE EXPENSIVE RIP OFFS ON THE hIGH STREET, BUT AT LEAST YOU CAN WEAR THEM. There is a good reason why they are cheap, because they are CR*P.How any business can send out rubbish like this i dont know. Dont believe all the spammers on here. If you must order, order something really cheap first and check for yourself. Dont spend a fortune cos you"ll be disappointed as i was.

Some more unscrupulous businesses send out carp in the hope that customers will not be bothered to complain as "it wasn't worth the effort, it only cost a tenner". Big mistake - how will things improve if we all do that.

Pick your company carefully, do your research and, as you mention, buy a cheap pair first to check out the service and product. A lot of the regular customers at my employer did that and found that all was well. Not the case with every online cheap glasses retailer, though.

We sell a lot of glasses online now and have built a loyal customer base - not so much because of the cheap prices (though that's certainly a factor!), but, based on the feedback we get, mainly because of the degree of customer service we provide.

If you find a product or service lacking in some way - contact the seller before you start slamming them in the forums. If they are worth their salt, they will make every effort to fix things when things go wrong. My company is not perfect and has made the occasional mistake. But we always do all we can to rectify matters. After all, a pair of specs "that don't work" are no good to anyone. Usually, so long as we are truthful, open and honest with the customers, they seem to understand and are normally happy to agree with an outcome.

The key here is communication. Look for feedback when buying your cheap glasses online. Ignore the spammers - go on recommedations.
