    good news...
lets hope it all works smoothly.

how do you think they'll pay isa - how will we retain the tax free status. any ideas?

I'm guessing (operative word here!) that they'll send it back electronically to our linked account and we'll get a letter saying "Mr Celt had £xxx in an ISA in icesave and this is to be treated as an accumulated ISA account" and we'll give that to the bank we're opening a new ISA with.

This is good news, and the FSCS have gone far above and beyond the call of duty on this one.

Now I trust we will see two or three hundred threads on this forum where all the people who were previously threatening action & complaining will now post an apology and message of thanks to the FSCS.

    No? Oh.

Depositors were only concerned about their money. It wasn't unreasonable to ask for some info. So put a sock in it blah blah.

You may like the quote i gave to press association... (if its used)

"This is more quickly than they were obliged to do, and for that, if as said the vast majority of payout are made in November, the authorities need commending. Yet if the don't deliver, they can expect to see hoards of Icesavers outside the Treasury"
