I'm still leaving my "I'm an Icesaver" banner in my living room window, I've not had a hawker since!
AND I'm leaving my "I'm an Icesaver" sticker on my car windscreen. I parked in Tesco's car park the other day, when I came back two Albanian lads had cleaned it for nowt!

    :rotfl:I like it.

What is the capital of Iceland ?

About £2.50 at the moment, and falling.

chaps requested 8th (£20 fee deducted from account) paid 22nd less a further £20 fee

If you want to be rich - never get married and most definately - never have kids....

And most definately NEVER deposit money into anything that is Iceland and "stores" money...

I think it probably means "we've got some other ideas and we may just do them so want to warn you just in case"

It could be resetting up Icesave as a bank or an alternative bank so people can take money out - under another banks auspices (the Icelandic authorities would probably need to agree).

It could be arranging for another bank simply to have the accounts so the money is sitting there.

I think its generally a catch all

Hello :hello: Thought that you had gone home for the night!

To be honest, I really don't care now! Money by the end of November will be great - anything else will just be a bonus. Loss of 2 months interest is a bit of a bug*er but at least the money will be back in time for Christmas. Wish I hadn't told the kids that Santa had died now ;)

Is it a fact that we've all lost 1-2 months interest? Didn't AD say that we would lose any money?

£100mil to keep a bank website running? For an extra 4 weeks? Were they running it on Duracell batteries using the combined computing power of 10,000 Atari's?

Mind you, with Iceland hoarding as much cash as possible over the past few years, it wouldn't surprise me if there were some cut backs here and there...

Keep the website running + keep the staff in place + keep the phones working + BIG bribe :D

Still a lot of questions to be answered:
    • What happens with ISAs?
    • What if you don't have a linked account?
    • What interest is payable since default (if any)?
    • Are term accounts now effectively maturing early?
Even so, on the face of it this is excellent news.

At the risk of sounding like a shill, NatWest are still doing the transfer bonus with their Cash ISA. I wonder if Icesave ISA holders will be able to take advantage of that should Martin's "ISA Certificate" theory turn out to be correct.

Not a fact, just an assumption. While AD said that we wouldn't lost any money, I suspect he was talking about deposits and interest up to the point of default. I'm not expecting any interest to be added from that point.
