What is a retail depositor compared to an individual depositor. I only see mention of retail depositors do they include ordinary everyday savers?

Retail = people who took out accounts via the Icesave website. That's US.

yes amistupid, standard retail customers of Icesave (ie all of them) will get their money back.

This is absolutely fantastic news and has made my weekend. I was starting to give up hope of seeing my money for months, even years. I just don't understand why this couldn't have been said 2 weeks ago! It took me, and a lot of fellow MSErs, all of about 2 seconds to work out that a quick way to handle compensation would be electronic bank transfers from frozen accounts.

Yes - i remember reading your post saying that you thought you wouldnt see your money for years, - if ever!

I've got (had?!) over 14 grand with icesave, and i'm not a rich guy by any means, so i've been pretty worried myself. Good news - enjoy your weekend everyone :beer: :T :beer: :T :beer:

Fantastic news! Was beginning to feel really despondant what with all the speculation and non-news. I promise that if payout happens during the second week of November I will not breathe a word about missing interest!
