I had ordered the proaction acai berries through facebook on 27th may, I decided i didnt really like the look and smell of the capsules so I have decided to cancel my free trial.

I sent an email through the proaction website requesting an rma number, i was sent a reply stating that my email would be answered within 72 hours.

I am sensible and I did read the terms and conds, but then i heard of all sorts of scams so I decided to 'hurry' the process along.

I sent another email (from my personal) stating i would like a reply to my cancellation request.
    however, no reply.
I've tried the 0800 012 2544 number a few times but was on hold for about 10 mins so gave up. four times.

I rang this number 30 mins ago and got through---- a lovely chap in america i think, he cancelled my order and gave me all relevant information, he didnt query my cancellation.

I have to ship the product back the address for returns is

    po box 4802
    sheffield
    s10 9fe

    hope this helps. x

I feel like a real idiot for getting taken in by this too. If it's any use to anyone I've twice managed to get through on the 0800 012 2544 number. I've discovered 2 lots of charges of £112 totalling £225 from my credit card despite emailling to cancel. After much wrangling with a very abusive american woman they agreed to refund one lot of charges once I returned the product - I will have to wait and see if they do this. When she refused to refund both lots of charges I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that "if I have to call a supervisor over you won't get anything refunded at all and will be worse off". I have contacted my credit card company to dispute the other claim.
Lesson leanred but money I can't afford to lose. Just hope I can warn others before they sign.
  • Just thought I would let you all know that the 0800 number that is printed on their leaflet is changing and that the 0800 will be turned off within a month - but there is no date to say when the countdown began.
Anyway the new number is: 08447454433

I got through within 5mins and had confirmation of orders cancelled via email immediately.

As to whether they will charge my Credit Card next month - time will tell.

I hope this helps anyone else who wants to cancel their orders.

i signed up for the free acai berry trial too, and i feel like a right idiot now. anyway, i just thought i'd let you know what happened. i read the slip of paper that came with the free trial when i received it today, and i realised that i was about to get stung, so i went into my bank (i payed on my debit card - double fool) and they said that there was nothing i could do about it, and i needed to speak to the company and cancel my order. i called a few times earlier, but never got anywhere. anyway, i have been persistent tonight in calling and i finally got through. when you call the number 1-877-350-8480 it connects to an automated message that tells you "thanks for calling customer service, due to large call volumes blah blah blah..", then at the end of the message the phone rings once. after that a number of things can happen:
    1. silence - hang up and try again.
    2. music like you're on hold for about 30 seconds, and then silence - hang up and try again.
    3. beep-beep-beep-beep-beep - hang up and try again.
    4. music like you're on hold. After about 10 minutes they answered. I spoke to christine - agent i.d 23564. she looked me up on their database, then i asked to cancel the order. she asked the reason and i told her that i had realised that their company was taking the, err, mick (i may not have used such polite language). she cancelled it and gave me a 7 digit reference number. she also confirmed that no shipments had yet been sent. when she asked if there was anything else she could help with i asked her for her email address, which she refused to give me, and then i asked for a company email address which she also refused to give me. then i asked her if she was an employee there or management, because i was hoping to persuade her to take the company down from the inside, but she tactfully sidestepped my question. anyway, hopefully i've acted fast enough to not have to pay for anything other than my 30 day trial postage and about 8 international phone calls. so if you've been unfortunate enough to get sucked into this, then i recommend persisting on the phone. i started calling tonight about 10.30pm, and i think it took about 6 attempts before i got through to someone at about 11.20pm.
if anyone is keen to form a possee with me and go raze this place to the ground then i'm keen.

I looked for reviews on this product before signing up and soooo glad I did.....so thankyou for your comments, this and other comments has saved me a whole heap of trouble! :T:T:T

From one idiot to another, I have an email from this company which clearly states trial. Although I have written to them on their email, they have written back saying they don't do trials, but as I say their email clearly states TRIAL. My credit card company, although not initially helpful, after asking to speak with a supervisor were very understanding and helpful and cancelled my credit card with immediate effect, so they cannot use it again nor can anyone else. They said they were sending me disputes forms, which are simple to complete and gave me a fax number to send it to They then give the scam company 30 days in which to respond, but said generally they dont. Even they don't respond within that time my own credit card company i.e. Nationwide will take the amounts of my card completely and deal with the company themselves.

Hope this helps others, What an idot....................:):)
  • I too ordered these for a free trial on 18/07 and only realised that I was signing up to a horrendous charge each month when the free items arrived 19/07.
On cancelling I received mail saying there was a slow response so as advised in the forum sent a personal email I also informed my bank and quoted DSLR receiving returns numbers and address immediately.
I'll make sure to get a receipt for postage.
I also find that the cost for a month is actually double what is quoted in their leaflet - the free trial being for 14 of 30 days.
I shall be extra careful in future.
  • Hi all,

I too fell for the amazing apparent 30 day FREE trial!

Recieved the items the next morning! After 3 days I phoned to cancel any further orders, got straight through on 0844 745 4433 to be told that i am still to be charged the special price of £26.34 for 14 days of the product as only 14 days was free.

Told them this was very misleading and that I did not want them. I now have to send the remaining tablets back with 2 returns numbers that they will give you.

Write these numbers on the envelope and on a slip of paper with your name and address on inside with returned goods.

They have told me they are only valid for return if I send special delivery ( so an extra fiver or so there then!) And then further payments will be stopped.

    Fingers crossed!

It is a lot of hassle but hopefully less than stopping your cards!
    Again number is: 08447 454 433
    Good luck all
