Is it my imagination....or was most of the money currently in the ether transferred on 8th? Could be significant if it is. Any ideas out there?

This aspect has been covered more than any other. The thread is full of references to problems with transfers mainly from around the 8th. Sroll back a few pages. It seems clear that a whole batch of transfers from then went missing, but nobody has admitted it. It's not clear whether they've yet been found or whether they are now relying on people phoning in.0 -
Certainly when I phoned on Saturday they had no idea my transfer was missing and therefore i can only assume no action would be taken unless one does phone in.0

I put through a request on the 14th for £25K withdrawal - still nothing come through into my account (although it disappeared from the KE balance pretty quickly). Called the tel number yesterday and supposedly someone was supposed to get back to me in 2 working days but no reply yet. They could not give me a reference number for my enquiry - apparently, should just quote the call centre agent's name!!
Have another request for £10K withdrawal put in last Friday - not holding my breath for that to arrive any time soon....
Hometune - could you please add me on to your list of unfortunates?0 -
I think the Ombudsman is a waste of time as they don't get involved until 8 weeks after any complaint to ING or indeed any final response from ING to a complaint [if you get any acknowledgement at all, I didn't]. I have registered my complaint there but hope to see my money before 8 weeks!!
The only other thought I had, was whether all those affected could bring some form of joint legal proceedings against ING for negligence or similar? Possible also maybe our respective local MP's may be interested in our plight since it was a Government decision to put ING Direct [a foreign bank] in control of our money!
CHAPS of 7th October still not arrived anywhere.0 -

Q. I made a payment from my Icelandic bank account and the payment hasn't arrived, where is my money?
A. Your money will not have left your own bank and it is more than likely that your bank is in the process of putting that money back into your account so you will be able to see the updated status of your account when you next log onto your account online.
Clear as mud as far as our transfers are concerned.
.. and it is more than likely
Absolutely useless

Neither do I....but I don't like the fact that something that wasn't on my statement on 10th suddenly appears now, dated 7th. Will my statement show I had no money to transfer come tomorrow???!! Glad I printed off a copy of the statement on the 10th...so have a record.
I imagine that since ING said they will refund the CHAPS transfers they have backdated it to ensure that it gets the interest due to it, i.e as if it had never left your account.0 -
£35 CHAPS on 8th October - £20 refunded but no monies in linked account. Phoned them this morning, told only a very few people left waiting. Manager will call me within 48hrs. Usual tosh!0

Just sent a pleading email to Kaupthing, and got a phone call back almost immediately. She was asking me security questions, you know memorable word, 4th letter of password etc, email address, (which they should know as I have just sent them an email) I was carrying on and then all of a sudden I realised I might not be speaking to anyone at Kaupthing.... might be a scam - I am getting paranoid now. I am going to ring them back right away on the number given to us. Will let you know.0

I also registered a complaint with Ombudsman who is passing my complaint on to ING but says I must wait for 8 weeks before anything else can be done. They are sending me a form which I have to fill in an return once the 8 weeks are up. I was told by ING yesterday that they didn't have a complaints department and advised just to write to their main address! The FSA helpdesk has been useless too. I agree that some joint action needs to be taken - there seem to be enough of us involved. We need some media exposure - has anyone tried to contact the national newspapers about this? I have also emailed complaints via the Kaupthing Edge and ING 'contact' mechanisms but I fear this is all a waste of effort. The worst part of all this is the feeling that it is all out of your control. I actually had to go to the doctor suffering with palpitations yesterday and I was told I was suffering from an adrenaline overload caused by the stress of all this. I would just love to sue ING for the damage to my health (and the cost of the tranquillizer prescription!)0
