Same old same old.
My 48 hours should end today and will let you know the result.
Have tried emailing working.lunch@bbc.co.uk to see if can get a bit of coverage (ok i know its doubtful - they got important diy tips to cover).

The ‘handful of people’ by their own admission is 500.

They are giving out the same stock answer to everyone. We are hoping something positive will start happening this afternoon.

Have just spoken to First Direct who confirm no pending BACS transfers today.... cannot see any pending CHAPS trasnfers until they come in but nothing there at the moment

Really fed up now! I rang Kaupthingedge on the 9th Oct to close my fixed account, the gentleman I spoke to took my details and told me he would do it for me.
I kept checking the account and the money disappeared on the 22nd October. So I thought it was going to be transferred into my linked account.
The money reappeared in my Kaupthingedge account plus interest earned on the 27th Oct.
So I rang them again to ask what was happening, to be told I had to transfer the money myself! Why was I not told this when I spoke to them in the first place? So the money went out and was missing for nearly two weeks before it reappeared again.
So I did a Chaps transfer and am still waiting…….what a complete nightmare

What if....the money injected by the FSCS to cover the deposits only initially covered the known initial deposits? C**k up on system meant that funds were shown as having left, but hadn't. Total liabilities of KE therefore underestimated. Every unaccounted transaction is not only being manually checked etc. but also requires 'sign off' by adminsistrators, ING and FSCS as the latter have to committ additional dough. These missing transactions are submitted in batches to the authorities for authorisation, (they obviously aren't going to be done inidividually).

By the way, had a long conversation with a guy on the 'special' number today. They are the ex KE guys. they are also totally frustrated as basically there is nothing they seem to be able to do apart from submit stuff to the administrators; I won't quote one of the things he said in an unguarded moment - I hope that call wasn't "recorded for training purposes." Nobody seems to be telling them what is going on either. And they don't know whether they will have jobs once it has settled down.

Shambles.

Our CHAPS fee has just been refunded :j

Which proves to me that ING are aware that the transfer hasn't taken place as it should have done. Fingers cross we might see it arrive in our linked account later today.
