I've so far sat tight as I only have a small sum left in Kaupthing, and I'm keen to avoid the situation whereby I transfer the money out but it
disappears into a black hole, potentially causing a lot of hassle. So my plan was to sit tight until things had settled down, but still being keen to get my money out the sooner the better.

Any advice anyone on what my best course of action would be at this stage?

Just go ahead and withdraw it.On the 17th nov AM
I logged on to my Kaupthing acct where there was just £1040 left in I made a bacs withdrawal and it appeared in my linked Bank acct Wed afternoon.Seems straight forward enough,I can't believe some people are still waiting now for the bulk of their money, there must be something seriously wrong here which needs the attention of a very senior ING bank person,a dreadful situation indeed.
  • So sorry to see that people are still waiting for their OWN money. I do hope this debacle is completely sorted out soon. Best wishes and sympathy to all still on 'the list'

ps Martin - I'm very happy for bigg to have a bottle of champagne from you - but it feels a bit discriminatory since there have been several of us did our damndest with the list over the last 2 months!! I thought we all did a good job!

You done an exceptional job SuperStar when there was in excess of 100 or more people on the list!! :T ...............Maybe you might just get the one I donated ;-)

Just spoke to MSE Helpline - apparently there is a delay with BACS transfers which can now take up to 5 working days - so I should just wait another 2 days. I will be put on the spreadsheet and will definitely get a call within 48 hours to let me know what is happening -where have I heard this before? All very depressing - wondering where/ when this saga will finally end.

Did they give any indication of what the latest "delay" is? ......I assume it will be the administrators again!!!

    PS,

I do apologise for not being as supportive of late. Had some family issues & almost back to normal...Thank god!!

However, It's the same very few faces that I see have been hanging in there....Lots of credit to them :T But where has everyone else gone?? It doesn't matter if it's 9 or 900 people waiting on their own money back.....All are as equally important and deserve the the support of all. After all, those already paid out relied on everyone from this thread for support during their time of need!

Don't mean to rant but think it had to be said ;)

Good luck to those still waiting!

Forgive me NorthernStar it wasn't my intent to insult anyone; just Bigg has been kept going. I can't give everyone the champagne - but hope you'll see his (hers?) as representative :)

I'm with you on this one ontherun and I agree that some of our supporters from a few weeks ago have gone; however I feel that many of them may be lurking but it would be nice of them to let those not yet paid know that support still exists!

Surely this delay in giving people back their own money can't go on much longer, at least I hope not!

I am still here and have been everyday, I am supporting quietly in the background. I just didn't want to clog the thread and repeat thngs that everyone else is saying. Anyhow I hope everyone still waiting is reunited with their money very soon.

    Still here supporting,and hoping!!!!!

I am so angry with the incompetent "professionals" dealing,or not dealing, with this!!
  • I'm still here too!! I check the thread every day in the hope that something is happening. I actually wrote a reply after rep told his story, but then panicked about sending it after the tickings off we got a few weeks ago, so didn't.

Don't know what to say to those still waiting, except don't give up. Keep the pressure on them and don't go quietly! The job of the administrators seems to be to hang onto whatever money they have until they can double, triple, quadruple verify all information, but they will have to give it back in the end. Keep hounding them!

Will be here to the end, even if it's not obvious at times!
    CHAPS 8/10 received Halifax 20/10
    BACS 18/11 (£30) (actioned 19/11) received CHAPS Halifax 21/11
    BACS 24/11 (£50) (actioned 25/11) received Halifax 28/11
