Had a terrible nightmare last night about banks and my money!
Despite the fact that I have got mine, both KE and Icesave, so I can really feel for the people still waiting. Banging heads and brick walls come to mind. You all must be totally exhausted by it all.
We are still all here for you and wish you luck. I did try emailing my MP yet again and Alistair Darling on behalf of those still waiting. But, no replies from either as yet. :grouphug:0 -
So sorry to see that people are still waiting for their OWN money. I do hope this debacle is completely sorted out soon. Best wishes and sympathy to all still on 'the list'
ps Martin - I'm very happy for bigg to have a bottle of champagne from you - but it feels a bit discriminatory since there have been several of us did our damndest with the list over the last 2 months!! I thought we all did a good job!KE veteran - life seemed so much simpler then!0 -

Just Pm'd Bigg to make the 9 still waiting to 10! Each time we think we're getting somewhere we hit another brick wall. Last week after mentioning the secret code word "official complaint" we got put through to someone senior, and ultimately had discussions with the director of customer services no less. Our money is, according to Lloyds who kindly sent the payment back, sat in KE's suspense account. However, we have yet to have this confirmed by KE let alone any indication on when it will arrive back in our KE account. The supposed director of customer services is now giving exactly the same stock reply as we have heard many times before: it's waiting for the administrators to respond! I don't understand how or why the administrators can continue to ignore the daily bombardment of requests - failing to take any action whilst at the same time preventing anyone else (i.e. KE or ING staff) from finding out either.0

Despite sorting out the BACS sort code through the MSE Helpline and making the transfer last Tuesday (18/11), it appears that KE is still not paying my money into my linked account - really don't know what else to do now.0

Just spoke to MSE Helpline - apparently there is a delay with BACS transfers which can now take up to 5 working days - so I should just wait another 2 days. I will be put on the spreadsheet and will definitely get a call within 48 hours to let me know what is happening -where have I heard this before? All very depressing - wondering where/ when this saga will finally end.0

As KE/ING/Administrators are still having such a massive problem with sending missing funds by BACS/SWIFT/CHAPS, is it worth asking them to send it to you by cheque? Not ideal I know, but at least you'd get it instead of it being bounced backwards and forwards.0

Thank you, that piece of information should give heart to those of us still waiting particularly because of anomolies with sort codes or account numbers.
I think we just have to await the pleasure of the administrators, which may be some time. When administrators, much the same as auditors, get involved they basicly dont believe anything they are presented with, they have to have it proved to them beyond any doubt because of fraud and other potential issues before money is released.
For my own part I have written to Ernst and Young to ask for an acceleration in the process. They wrote back (on behalf of Kaupthing Singer and Friedlander) telling me they viewed my letter as a complaint and as such would respond within eight weeks. They also told me I had redress if I was still unhappy after that period, to involve the FSO and even gave me the Ombudsman's help leaflet. This is in line with the information on the FOS's web site.
Although our treatment by KE/ING has been pretty poor, with broken promises, phone calls that didn't materialise etc. etc., I do not think they can influence the matter one iota although an official registering of a complaint with the FSO might help, or at least allay the feeling of helplesness we remaining few are feeling.
I for my own part am keeping copies of every e mail and letter sent along with logging calls and responses or lack of them.
I just hope Citibank doesn't go belly up, my newly recovered Icesave money is in there and I dont want to help a run on the bank by switching it.
Good luck to us all0
