Hi folks,
Am trying hard to get some new info off ING today, will let you know as soon as we have anything.
Can i check - is it still the 23 people left? and is there a pattern on when/how you tried to withdraw your money? e.g. same date/used Chaps
Dan
It's probable that the majority of the 23 people on the list have now been sorted out but have not asked the Fury to take them off the list and only a handful remain.I'm not sure there is any real pattern re timing of amounts for the remainig cases. The few remaining OUTGOING payments seem mostly to relate to issues of KE getting hold of incorrect pieces of account information. There are also a few people including myself who tried to make INGOING chaps payments at around the time of the administration. Our moneys seem to have been lost somewhere in the system and KE are refusing to say anything about when this will be resolved.0 -
In reply to question when did I open the FTD account? 24th October.
I think that it's appauling that ING are using a lame excuse to cancel FTDs - they could easily have stopped these being opened weeks ago. I transfered funds from my KE savings account when it looked like the dust had settled.
Seems to me that they have been spooked by the 1.5% drop in rates and pulled the plug - saying that I will not lose interest compared to what I'd have got with the savings account.
It only adds to the impression that banks always win. They can offer you something then take it away when it suits them and say wasn't our fault. STINK ING0 -

Does anyone know if Capital One is okay to put my money in?

Hi there,
I requested my money via CHAPS on 07/10/08, payment date was meant to be 08/10/08. It has still to materialize & despite daily calls to K Edge customer services, they cannot tell me where my money is or when it will arrive. My wife also did the same for her savings on the same date. Her money safely (less £20 CHAPS fee) arrived in her linked bank account about a week ago.
So I can only presume that it is a random error?
Any help much appreciated.0 -

Have you checked to see if your linked bank has a different sort code for chaps transfers.
Some banks have one sort code for BACS and a different one for CHAPS0 -

Capital One is a major Us bank holding company focussing on credit cards/auto loans. it's considered well managed, but is in very tough sectors. Currently its market capitalisation is about USD 10 bn and it was one of the banks into which the US has put in capital. Moody's has affirmed its investment grade status but put it on a negative outlook. In the UK it operates under the FSCS so your first GBP50k is guaranteed by the UK gment0 -

Keep ringing and ringing and also mailing the contacts listed on some of the earlier pages of this thread. You might also use the secure messaging service on the K E website; I did this and always got a reply and eventually my cash after a month's wait. HANG IN THERE; IT'LL HAPPEN!!0
