Clearly for some people, immediate access to their capital is the big concern as they face some sort of liquidity crisis, for others it is the uncertainty as to when exactly they will "see" their money again. But for others interest income is a priority, especially those who are essentially living off their investment income. Let's not forget that pretty much the only reason for saving with KE was to obtain a decent income. We may well be looking at a halving of rates over the next few months - the reaction is likely to be slower than the Base Rate cuts as the interbank market are till very tight, which for people living off investment income is far more significant than whether their funds show up in their account this week, next week or the end of the month. Unless you're one of the highly unfortunate people who has ALL your liquid funds locked up within KE, rationally speaking you should be more worried about positioning yourself for the expected tumbling of rates than ehen exactlyyour KE funds will be released.[/quote

Do you really think people who've been waiting about a month for money that's disappeared into the ether give a flying fig about rates of interest? They just want their money back(and you to pontificate somewhere else please!!)

Wadeall you are really beginning to get on my nerves.

People just want to concentrate on getting their monies back and not reading all your waffle!

Must be so good to be as clever as him !!!!!
  • No money.

Had the email saying my money will be in my account by the end of business tomorrow. LIARS.
  • A 1.5% base rate cut today? It's a shame I don't have my money because then I'd be able to open a fixed rate account before they're all gone.
  • Hello all, to those still waiting, and those still supporting....
just putting in my two'pennorth and pinching mrarnald's words below ........... I'll be watching from the sidelines till this thread is done forever - hopefully tomorrow. Why is it always the dreaded Friday? We've had a few of those now, eh peeps? This is such an awful mess, and my nerves are still jangling from the experience. GOOD LUCK and be of good hope for tomorrow, Isobella

:T :T :T ING! We are not going away until every last one of us has got their money back!

Which was only trying to be helpful.

Clearly for people in Madre's position the situation is far more worrying than for most of us. It's a shame that if this does have to be done at a snail's pace (and i can't quite see why it should have to be), that there isn't someway of prioritising the more urgent cases at the expense of people such as me who are more concened about eventually geting the cash back than precise timing.

As to what pressure can be applied. I suspect that MSE is just one of several "best buy" sites where there are forums such as this. off the top of my head i can think of Fool, Moneysupermarket and Martin/Dan probably are more familiar with their other "competitors". Though ING are no longer offering top rates, between them I would imagine that these sites generate quite a bit of new business for ING. If they could be persuaded to run a fairly prominent and ideally coordinated "health warning" against ING on their "front page" until ING had finally managed to sort out the mess, then i think it would put real pressure on senior people at ING to pull their finger out and sort the situation out, or at least keep people far more honestly informed as to what's going on. I suspect that most of these sites are feeling a bit sheepish about having featured KE quite so prominently in their Best Buy tables (despite all the "no one could have foreseen this"/ "we were just telling people the best rates" type comments), so it maybe possible to talk them into doing this.

Has anyone been monitoring the forums on alternative sites to see what's going on there?

I got this a few minutes ago:

    Dear Mr xxxxx

I refer to our earlier communication in which we confirmed your outstanding payment should arrive with your bank today. Unfortunately your particular payment missed the cut off time with the clearing bank and therefore should now be processed and reach your linked account tomorrow.
Please accept our sincere apologies and thank you for your continued patience.
    Yours sincerely

Is it being sent to all outstanding "victims" ? In my case the communication they referred to didn't take place and the funds are supposed to arrive at KE not my linked account, but it seems a glimmer of hope at least.
  • Yes I got that e mail from KE a few minutes ago.

Phoned at 6.30pm to be told they were awaiting an update & would phone me back.Looks like they prefer an e mail instead.

Not holding my breath for tomorrow.
WishI could believe a word they say.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Yes, I've just had this email too!!!!
  • Unbelievable that this c**p is STILL going on. I was optimistic tail end of last week that this would be resolved early part of this week.

What the efffffffff are these guys playing at?????????

If people have logged their missing transaction calls, its a flaming simple case of matching these against their KE account records and confirming with the linked bank whether the payments were received or not. HOW HARD CAN THAT BE......................

Regardless of this guff about the administrators being involved, ING have publicly said they have taken responsiblity for these accounts.....WELL TAKE SOME FLAMING RESPONSBILITY.
