I have emailed the Sunday Times, Alastair Hemmings, Maggie at E & Y. Just hope someone is going to sort this out soon. KE are ringing me back at 4.30 but of course the money didn't go in.

Hang in there Lesley - we are not at COB yet.

Just spoken to someone from KE who says the administrators sent the payment on 4th Nov but then said she couldn't confirm definitely mine was amongst them just that a batch had been sent. Then said that she will ring me at 4.30 as if it was it would be in by then. Also said it wasn't sent by CHAPS but by SWIFT. I am now beginning to wonder if I will see it again. My husband has just gone to hospital this afternoon for an op, my brother starts second bout of chemo today and this really isn't helping stress levels. Do they care? I doubt it.

If funds do not arrive for Lesley53 by COB today, I would suggest that this qualified as an exceptional case

Please work your magic & speak with your contact/s at ING

    Thanks

Just spoken to Alastair Hemmings who says I should give it until 6pm, to be honest I have been fobbed off so many times I really will be surprised if it's in there.
Will give it a rest now and concentrate on thinking about the important issues, my family.

Lesley, I hope that your money comes through soon, but how many more stories of hardship are there on this forum that nobody's aware of?

ING don't seem to realise that they're dealing with real people, with real life issues that need their money, and the associated stress that this causes could just be the final straw for some.

ING must have worked so hard to find a management team that are so cruel and heartless. Don't they understand the distress that they're causing?

With Base Rates being cut by 1.5% to 3% today those of you who are living off interest income need to think seriously about locking in some fixed term rates whilst they are still available at the 6.5-7.1% range.

Having funds locked in cyperspace with KE/ING obviously makes this very tricky unless you have additional free funds. I was told by KE that they will no longer accept fixed deposits though there may be a loophole to do it through the net which ING may or may not honour. In any case, most people on this thread will have diverted their funds elsewhere. if you are over 60, 7.1% is still available from Saga (HBOS), Bradford and Bingley (Santander) is offering up to 6% - 6.5%. ICICI is also offering about 7%. It is under the FSCS, but there have been jitters against the bank so its not at all inconceivable that it will be nationalised by the Indian state sometime during the next year.

Generally speaking if you apply for these fixed rates, the banks will honourthe rate for a period, even if they lower their rates before your application is complete.

I've been monitoring the threads - the optimism of earlier in the week seems to be evaporating, what a nightmare!
I wrote to my local MP last week and received a reply yesterday. Unfortunately he has mis-understood the problem and his reply relates to Kaupthing Isle of Man.
I will clarify and explain that there is still a massive problem that needs to be investigated by the Financial Secretary to the Treasury.

    It's not 60, it's 50.

Your post is very honourable indeed. However, posting it on another thread & perhaps the link to that thread here would have been more appropriate. There are still people on here that have all their savings still tied up in KE/ING or lost in the "ether" without access!! - This type of thing could very well be rubbing salt into very open wounds

    Appreciate your intentions though

Is it worth doing the lottery - it seems that out of thousands and thousands of people I have managed to get down to the last 30 or so people to get their money although having read the ING board if I didn't get my money than I should have got a phone call! I got neither so I am special!

I phoned them and was told I'dget a call in 24hrs - I didn't I rang again (weds) was told within 48 hours so I'm waiting! I reckon I won't get a call or the money.

I feel for those in financial hardship as this is taking the preverial!

But how many still haven't got my money?? I'm hoping I'm the last as that means everyone else has got theirs and I'm special!

    its just ridiculous!
