  • Expected a large sum to be in my account today. Called First Direct and no sign of it. Called ING help line number. They took account details etc and said they would pass the details onto their supervisor and it would take 2 days to investigate. In the meantime they suggest I keep checking my account. So much for the promises on their website!!

it would seem, unless someone comes on to contradict me,that virtually ALL the missing payments from around the time of the takeover are CHAPS requests(although I think there was a BACS from the 3rd?)
Therefore, could Martin or Dan perhaps establish that these have been processed,as they insist......has anyone any evidence that ING are aware of them...ie account transaction numbers etc?
    It's all a hell of a coincidence!

When I logged my money as missing this afternoon with ING the lady I spoke to said the BACS transfers went through ok it was just the CHAPS which had been the problem. So they are aware that it's the CHAPS.
    2 accounts:-
    1/ BACS requested 7th -left KE 8th - funds received Fri 17th
    2/ CHAPS requested 7th - left KE 8th - funds received Thurs 30th Oct.
    CHAPS fees returned 27.10.08

    Sorry from me

Just to say I'm really sorry to read people still haven't got their money back yet. We've been on the phone many times a day to ING and i had hoped everyone would be sorted.

We're not giving up. We will continue to do our best... to try and speed this along. Not much can be done over the weekend though..

Not sure what more to say - i hope this will all be finished on monday. Try and have a nice weekend.

One bit of good news if any of you have Icesave money too - the compensation system has been done for that.

    Martin

Thanks Martin from all of us still waiting, perhaps I will get my Icesave savings back before my KE savings then:rotfl:

Still not broke my sense of humour.......... just chipping away at it;)

Hi Madre, you do have access to your KE account I assume, or printed off a statement? In which case you have definitive proof that a debit was made from the account, and presumably you can get defiitive proof that it was never received at your linked account?

Therefore there is an undeniable audit trail, so you will get your money back. Get frustrated, get angry, get ******** off, but don't let it eat away at you that you may have lost your savings.

No-one on here is going to rest until EVERYONE is sorted!

Yes, fine, Martin. And we all appreciate your efforts. But Dan said (about 5:45) he would try to get the ING spokesperson to speak. "Have gotten hold of ING and they will be posting a message for the savers who haven't yet received their transfers in a little while (He was just driving home)."

    What happened to that?

Agreed. Martin needs to use some of the weight he has to make this more public now we've had a second blank Friday. Martin should be highlighting the missed deadline at the front of the MSE website, making it clear on the front page that ING have failed to meet THIER OWN DEADLINES AND PROMISES FOR THE SECOND WEEK RUNNING and many savres remain without their money.

For the ING rep. to say he's on his way home at 5:45pm this evening when there are so many people still without their money is an utter disgrace and a real slap in the face for those still sweating it out.

"We are pleased to confirm that the backlog of external payments requested on or before Monday 20th October has now been cleared. These payments have been sent out and have started appearing in destination bank accounts."

This was posted by ING on Thursday, CHAPS transfers done on a Thursday would show in Halifax at the very latest on Friday... when people move house, CHAPS transfers are used to push money through the chain within hours. I have had CHAPS transfers initiated and showing in Halifax within hours.

I posted earlier that when I spoke to ING this afternoon she was adamant that the payments were all going out as bacs NOT chaps. There's your answer I'm afraid.....

If you are waiting for a CHAPS that wasn't initiated on the 7th (regardless of when it left your account) please post and say so. If no-one does then we'll know where the issue is.

No mine was the 8th at 4.00am and still not received
    ING/KE Debacle
    8/10 CHAPS to Barclays
    31/10 MONEY ARRIVED

Nope, sorry, BACS 7th Oct. BUT BACS 8th Oct received.

From what I'm reading here it looks like there is a particuarl issue with 7th Oct requests.

Right....so is anyone still missing a payment OTHER than on the 7th? Don't include any since the takeover, though.

What about BACS transfers made on or before the 7th or 8th....is anybody waiting for one of those?

Still no sign of the £24K which left my account on the 7th Oct,BACS transfer, looks like a pattern is emerging. Stressed. icon8.gif
