Hi,
just reading the various posts to catch up.first of all I now ready do wish that before we do the post morton on the downs and downs of the standard of service we have been the brunt of.
I think we must not loose the sight that some of our number are still not in receipt of their money, let's please not loose sight of this fact.
Having been there up untill latish on 30 th Oct 2008, when I did get my money transfered, sorry to say still stinging from the whole epsisode, the wait from 7/8 th Oct 2008 seemed a century of time.
So I do understand what these folks still waiting are , what ever they post, are really going through,
As this is the first time in History that these events have taken place on this level, with bonifi banks just over night , well to us anyway going bankrupt.
We all heard the "Your Money is safe with us" rubbish , but it seen not to be, untill it's back in your hands then you know it is,
What ever the banks, agents for banks, accountants , Govenments , or joe bloggs says then, when you have it back , in your control and hands, you only then really know whats going on.
just a post note, What ever ING Direct, botch together, as mitigating circumstances, the whole truth, in my mind, is that they were very inconsiderate, very economical with the truth, totally no idea as to how to treat a customer, and jumped to any conclution, and to me left the Kaupthing-edge UK staff to take all the flack, armed with nothing but a
a very slightly better, plus abit more towards the , payment in my case .
customer commiucations skillsCHAPS transfer on 7/8 October 2008, with KE, second on 17 October 2008, never heard or a word back, frrom ING paid late 30 October20080 -
Just thought I'd throw my 2 pennorth in. I think bjorn-again and his critics are slightly at cross purposes. If you have left your money alone in KE, it might appear that they (& ING) are doing a reasonable job - the money already in their keeping is safe, they are paying the interest and they seem to be starting to function normally again.
HOWEVER - those of us who (for various reasons like actually needing the cash for a specific purpose, or just to get out of a foreign bank in these uncertain times) initiated a transfer around the time of the collapse and lost sight of THEIR OWN money for over 2 weeks, it has been an extremely worrying and stressful time. It still is for those people who have STILL not seen its return. KE/ING senior management has certainly been less than honest with us all throughout this time.
So maybe we can stop getting quite so personal with each other and recognise there are different legitimate points of view.
Best of luck for those still waiting.
PS my wife and I still have over £40,000 in our FTD accounts and in general we feel confident enough in its safety to leave it there for the time being - at least until we feel confident enough to move it to a British Bank without it going missing.0 -
Well in the words of Diana Ross - I'm Still Waiting!
Come on ING - PULL YOUR FINGER OUT! I want, no NEED my money back.:mad::mad::mad::mad:
(Transfer requested 7th Oct 2008 - received to date - Zero, nil, nought, nada, zilch)0 -
Still waiting after a call yesterday saying money would be in my account today. If it was sent over the weekend surely it would have cleared last night. I am suspicious that, as yesterdays call was the first to request my login details i.e. to check I had tried to transfer funds? (based on what I have learnt from fellow contributors to this forum).

Basically, no. No funds move over the weekend (except for faster payments, but even they are technically pending).
ING are now settling missing payments by SWIFT, which should take 2 days to clear - and will only start showing in the afternoon of the (working) day they are cleared0 -
Just wanted to add my best wishes to everyone still waiting, hope ING eventually get their act together today and sort out the remaining payments.0

I don't see the point of arguing between each other. Forums are like email and can be taken the wrong way. It's easy to bite when you are stressed and worried.
Lets just concentrate on getting our money back and keep the thread on topic.0 -
