New Kaupthing CHAPS/BACS Transfers discussion - Friday 24th October

Hi,

Have been trying to withdraw funds from my account for over a month now - eight times in fact. Have rang several times to be informed that somebody will call me back within 48hrs and that my details were added to a spreadsheet. Nobody ever calls me back so the cycle repeats itself. The funds are still in my account but I simply cannot get to them. Each transfer request fails.

This is ridiculous and is beginning to cause us major financial problems. I really do not know what else to do?

Large BACS transfer made on 3rd October - Here I am 1 month later - still nothing but false gaurentees and a couple of generic emails.

Its my bday on wednesday but im in no mood to celebrate anything, can't beleive this is still going on!

When I phone in people are no more helpful and have no more information than they did 3 weeks ago.

So sick and tired of this...

No, the interest on our "lost" money has not yet been paid, not that I'm concerned about it at the moment.

Good luck all for today, hopefully this will be sorted today or tomorrow.
I, too got interest but is only for the period from the start of the month until ING took over, rest of interest will follow after everything else has been sorted for the savers still waiting.
Good Luck Zaphod and the rest of people waiting, hurry up ING/KE/E & Y and give them their cash back.

Absolutely unbelievable......with stories like this,how anyone in their right mind can consider keeping any savings with these incompetent, cruel and heartless people is totally beyond my comprehension.

Just tried to make a bacs payment this morning of my interest (leaving £1) to nominated a/c, I was presented with the "We confirm that we have received the following instruction:" Page with a transaction reference but the money has NOT be deducted and is NOT showing as a future or pending transaction!

Not enough to be concerned or to call, just curious what’s going on

Phew! CHAPS transfer from 7th October finally arrived in my account on Friday 31st. The relief is enormous.

I really hope that everyone else gets their money. I'm pretty sure you will as long as you have given KE/ING all the details and keep pursuing it. I don't know if emailing is any more effective than phoning. I did both but things seemed to happen very quickly when I emailed both Kaupthing Edge and ING to complain and requested that my email be passed to the Chairman of ING.

Even if your particular problem is now resolved, I also feel that you should all contact your local MP and tell him/her the whole sorry story about your particular case. I did this with mine and he has said that he will take it up with the Treasury. Even if we all get our money, steps need to be taken that all banking systems (particularly audit trails of inter-bank transfers!) are sufficiently robust to withstand similar circumstances in the future. For me, the worst part of this for a long time was that no-one at ING or KE could/would give me any information to reassure me about what had happened to my particular transaction and what they were doing about it. That can't be acceptable in anyone's book. The more people who bring this to the attention of government the better.

Just checked linked account - nothing doing ! No replies from e mails I sent on Friday either to Maggie Mills or the formerly "nice " Mr Hemmings .

No doubt I shall be one of the 35 !!
