  • Anybody holding their breathe ?

Not really Zaphod, it's sorta settled in my head that it'll be tomorrow for me!
However I'm not despondent like last Monday.

Hi fellow sufferers - waiting tranny still... I know I'm getting the KE runaround now - 'we'll phone you back' 'try within the hour' 'no the helpful one isn't in today' 'wait til close of business...' 'by tomoorow' etc., etc.
It rags me to phone 0845 numbers to add to the costs of not having my own money.
Was there alternative number for KE customer service? I seem to remember seeing it on this thread but can't find it now in the myriad of posts:o
  • CHAPS transfer 9th Oct. Straight forward instant access account.

I've spoken to ING AND Kaupthing several times over the past few weeks. First I was getting the run around by being told it would be in within a couple of days, then it was a friday, then I was told it was in and probably just not showing up, then I was told it would be the tuesday etc etc etc and then ING started saying I needed to speak to Kaupthing and vice versa. This went on for a couple of weeks.

Last thing was I put a trace on it last monday and, although noone actually phoned me back like they said they would within 48 hours, when I eventually contacted them last Thursday they told me it was with a clearing bank but couldnt give me any more information other than that. When I asked when it would be in my account they just kept saying 'soon' and when pushed the customer service guy was getting a bit 'short' with me and kept saying how this is happening to lots of other people and I just needed to wait and he couldnt get any more information for me. Sorry but is it just me being entirely cynical that this is just never going to turn up and why cant they find out whats going on with my money? Surely they're ultimately responsible for it!

Does anyone know what the next step is because the person I spoke to said that I couldnt escalate the query and anyone else I could speak to at Kaupthing would just be telling me the same thing. Customer service = APPAULING. Extremely, extremely frustrated about how this has all been handled and it seems like they are banding conflicting info about i.e. one minute they are saying there are only 0.05% of transactions that this is affecting and then the next minute they're telling me its happening to an extremely high number of people and I just need to wait my turn.

    arggghghhghghgh!!!!!!!

is the geographic number for the KE helpline number 0845 1313234 (well, it worked for me anyway!). Thank goodness for free minutes on my mobile :money:

www.saynoto0870.com has loads of geographic numbers for most 08 codes.

Still waiting for my money. Grrrr......

  • Just checked my Natwest linked account and my money has finally arrived approx. 3.15pm!! At last I can relax...... What an arduous, stressful journey but there obviously is a God up there after all...... Not sure he's Dutch though and he's definitely not Icelandic either!!

Thank you ING but the experience could have been a lot more positive than it actually turned out to be.

Hope everyone else gets their money today also!! I'll keep checking here until they do!

Oh, well done. That's really good news. Let's hope the floodgates open. My bank balance is now so sick I can't bear to even look at it. This is almost a month now of stressful procrastination and empty promises.
