Blimey, soz I thought you had been paid, albeit clearly marked in your signature as not, Greecian good luck (is luck the right word to use)
  • Alisonb.., I don’t think people will be keeping their accounts open with ING after this mess. Incredible that their advert in the national papers says "Award winning Customer Service Team"

Chaps 7/10 @11;20 HSBC still waiting ING
  • PanicButtton, not long to wait now

Thanks Zaphod and Grecian, but I won't be holding my breath; this is our fourth Friday!
Good luck to everyone in the "waiting room"; may this be our day.
  • Good luck to all this afternoon, and to everyone who is/was affected by this company, or even if you weren't, but were moved by some of the stories here, please remember to tell your family, friends, colleagues, anyone in fact, don't ever invest anything with ING.

You've seen how they treat people, so just remember.....

The sight of all those people queueing outside the branches of Northern rock soon got something done, perhaps thats what we should do, instead of hiding in our own homes behind PC`S.
Chaps requested 8th October : money left my account 8th October : £20 chaps fee deducted : destination account Halifax : Chaps fee of 20 re-funded to my KE account 27th October but dated 8th October: On the spreadsheet and received generic e-mail 29th October. Funds paid to my linked account 4th November
  • My transfers don't go back as far as some but this was my recent log of "attempted" withdrawals;

Oct 17th, Thought things in KE/ING would have been back on track, made online withdrawal with confirmation print out. Result- not even acknowledged, not logged at KE so they have no recollection.

Oct 23 phoned KE, was apologised to and they advised withdraw by chaps, they will refund chaps costs. Made this happen so that funds left my account on 24th.
Result- still did not have funds in linked account on 24th but the amount is withdrawn from my account.

Oct 25 made another call to KE and they said I should know that they are not honouring chaps transfers as it was somewhere on a link in their webpage:confused:, (it seems their staff on 23rd did not know either) but the payment WOULD go through as bacs. Which meant the payment should arrive Wednesday 29th. Result, still waiting!

I called them yesterday and spoke to a supervisor who said they are getting it put into the spreadsheet? I think it means looking into it.
In this time I have sent several emails and had 2 promises they would call back in 24 hours. Of course have not been called!
I explained that I need the money urgently as I have wrote a cheque from my linked account to another bank which is true and because I am leaving the UK for a while within 3 days which is sort of true.

Oct 31 I get this email..

    Dear Mr D
Further to our recent telephone conversation where we committed to providing a response within 48 hours, I regret to inform you that the recent transaction from your Kaupthing Edge account to your nominated linked account has been identified as being held up.

Whilst the instruction was given to process your transaction, we have now identified that the transaction has failed and as a result the payment has not yet been released and we are working with all parties involved to release your payment in the quickest possible way so the funds are available to you as a matter of urgency.
We cannot stress enough that your money is safe and we continue our commitment to you in terms of resolving this issue.
ING Direct will refund the loss of interest on your Kaupthing Edge account that resulted from payment delays. CHAPS fees will also be refunded in cases where the payment was not sent within the normal timescale.
We appreciate your patience and we will contact you either as soon as your transaction is released or within 48 hours with a further update on timescales.

    Yours sincerely,

    Customer Services
    Kaupthing Edge

Conclusion; me, lots of stress, almost had to cancel my trip them, PATHETIC!
Recomendation, seek legal recommendation for compensation, withdraw all fund exept minimum to keep account open in case they actually sort things out to everbodys satisfaction.

Made my lunchtime call to KE (I'm restraining myself from calling any earlier) and spoke to a young man ...who kept having to ask his colleagues the answer to my questions - not reassuring! A little bit of probing later I discovered the following:

Names are given to them in batches of who the 'lucky people' are and told to ring them.
You do not get onto the 'lucky' list unless:
    a) you have called them and had you account/call 'logged' and
    b) You have waited minimum 48hrs after that
    c) you have received personalised email saying 'sorry but your account has been identified as held up'.
    d) You have waited a further minimum 48hrs - when, if you are lucky, you will be added to the 'lucky' list.

So, I received 'sorry' email yesterday....I know I'm not on current 'lucky list'....tomorrow is Saturday......So maybe I get to be on the 'lucky list' by Monday......money by......Wednesday? What odds will anyone give me?

Gosh I feel great!! Think I will go out and find myself a nice brick wall to bang my head on!!

I've just checked to see if i am on the LUCKY listbut not lucky this time perhaps next time!!
  • Blimey

I cannot believe people still have not got their money! I withdrew my last £3.91 on 24th and got it into my bank on 28th. my KE acount now shows a big fat zero and it will stay that way. I am staying British from now on, even if it means a lower rate of interest.

Fingers crossed you all get your money back very very shortly.

Come on ING/Administrators sort this mess out.

Surely this won't be another False hope Friday.
No more offshore banking for me
  • Sent email to Mr Alastair Hemmings at 13:12 asking what was happening. Just got a phone call from KE Customer Services - as they were talking to me I checked my link account - they told me I should receive the funds by the end of business today - IT HAS ARRIVED!!

    :T :T :T :j  :j :T :T :T

For those who have not yet received it why not try writing to Mr Hemmings apparently it worked.

Thanks Martin & Dan and all members who have supported everyone through this and fingers crossed for remaining payments to come through today.
