No I don't think so. Transfers the weekend before did not go through. That was before people knew of the Icesave problems. The problem was already there I believe.

Transfers have never gone through over the weekend only during banking hours ie Mon - Fri. I withdrew money BACS late morning Wed 1st Oct and it arrived at my linked account Fri 3rd Oct. So I feel you're being harsh in your comments above.

very odd but i noticed when i finally received my money last week that not only had i had £20 deducted from my kaupthing account but i also had an additional £20 deducted from the amount transferred. in total i was in fact charged £40 for them not performing the services promised. i'm not in any way making a song and dance about this since it's not even comparable to their losing our savings for a couple of weeks. however, i still find it extraordinary.

According to ING via the KE website - http://www.ingdirect.co.uk/kaupthingedge.asp

Interest adjustment and refund of CHAPS fees:
ING Direct will refund the loss of interest on your Kaupthing Edge account that resulted from payment delays. CHAPS fees will also be refunded in cases where the payment was not sent within the normal timescale. An update will be posted on this page next week, giving further information and an update on timings.

It still appears a lot of people still haven't received their money from transfers made from the 7th onwards, so once all that is sorted out, I imagine ING will look into refunding fees.
  • this pm - 27th - the £20 has reappeared into my KE account , but there is still a £20 deduction from the amount paid into my link account
KE veteran - life seemed so much simpler then!

I have just checked my KE account and I also have had £20 CHAPS fee refunded - dated 7th October on the statement, although I only requested the transfer on 8th??

I am also still waiting for the return of the £20 deducted from the transferred amount and of the lost interest for the 2 weeks the withdrawal was missing.

Looks like things are moving slowly - although it seems that nobody on the main thread has received any transferred money today, which is where I would have hoped KE would be giving priority.
  • I too have noted the CHAPS fee return, and like you have had an additional £20 deducted from the amount requested and the amount that appeared in my link account.

I will chase once there is good news on the main thread. What a complete mess this has been.

I'm pleased to say that we too have received our £20 CHAPS fees back in our KE accounts (2 accounts).

BUT, we are waiting for the £20 deducted from each transferred amount received in our link accounts plus the ING promised interest 8/10 to 22/10.

I am pretty sure that these will follow so am not clogging KE/ING with dippy/lippy frantic phone calls chasing these amounts.

I can well understand, and sympathise with, the total frustration of those poor people still waiting to receive their original transfers from 7 or 8 October.

    Best wishes to all.......
STILL WAITING for refund of 1x £20 fee plus missing interest on our 2 accounts.

I now officially have 0.00 in my account - I would like to close it but if I do that before they sort out the interest thing ...do you think this will cause complications??...ING/KE don't have a good track record with even simple transactions ..eg take money from one account put in to other! ...so this might be a step too far? waddayathink?

Im keeping £100 in my KE A/C to keep it open as this is the minimum amount you need to leave in there! When I receive my CHAPS refund and interest I will then be closing the account but not till then!
