But its recorded on timelapse.,I imagine. It will be on disc.
Are you aware of the Data protection issues? Apart from Subject Access?
When you say it is put on dvd "for you",you make it sound like they do this routinely-its much more complicated than that. Its not something the staff at store level will deal with.
Thats my secondary point, and I am in danger of repeating myself if I make my main point.

I have no idea. I just believe what I say is true. And if it is true then there must be _some_ way for them to view it.

    Why must there?

Even if its not recorded on timelapse ,it's most probable you would need specialist equipment to view it.
Even if it you could view it,tesco would have to get all the othe peoples faces on it professionally "fuzzed out" which costs a lot of money and is done by a specialist company.(because of other Data Protection Issues)
If you wrote to tesco requesting it,the usual trick is not to reply to the letter for a period of weeks, then say the images have been erased.

Thats why Tozer said earlier, you should either know what you are doing,or get a legal specialist deal with it.Its not that simple .
  • Hi Guys,

I was sitting last night and just thought, has the OP actually been back in to Tesco and mentioned that her toe is broken?

I assume she didn't know at the time when the accident book would have been filled in by Tesco.

There is probably a good chance they have no idea how bad it was for the OP.

I'm sure they would ensure that she gets some flowers/vouchers.

Because if I am right (and I do stress that I don't know that I am right) that you have a legal right to see this information then somehow or other they have to fulfill that obligation. Surely?

Good thinking. I always find it is better to ask for a goodwill gesture rather than compensation. No need to prove anything, no need for fault to be admitted, no need for things to get out of hand with silly sums. Just a token gesture to keep a customer happy.

I guess that would depend on the severity of the case, should I suffer loss of earnings for example, if I have a week off work in crutches, and accept a couple of "vouchers" for the damages? Should my mother slip n fall, resulting in a fatality, would "here's some vouchers, to make you feel better, come back and shop with us any time" Really make me "happy"

Im the kind of person who "should I trip" blames myself, I just dont have the time or patience to look for ways to make a buck out of it, but should I suffer financial loss as a result of something, I was blameless for, whoever it is my legal rep says is responcible, is who I am going to claim against.

So sueing them even though it wouldn't bring your mother back would make you feel "happy" again?

Well when I said "its put on DVD for you" you speak to the security manager who gives a relevant form then it is processed, once approved the footage is put on DVD and you can collect it.
