  • i dont wash my face......well i do but with cotton wool and cleaner when i remeber....i cant deal with water on my face at all, and have to get out and dry it if it gets wet.

i couldnt identify why without trying but closing my eyes when im standing up does make me panic, sitting is only slightly better, i will close one eye rather than both, or scrunch my face up and squint or something instead of closing them when im not trying to sleep.

    Good grief!
What an odd interest to take up...

i dont dare question it, im really enjoying not having to do it, and it is not something i would ever ask someone else to do (except when im away and my other friend is feeding etc my cats but thats different).

Ok, so I have a question. When you're in the shower, for instance, and you're washing your face, for instance, and you have to close your eyes... do you have the most horrible feeling that you're falling? I have to reach my hands out and press them against the wall to get some semblance of where upright is (iykwim). I have to say it freaks me out somewhat...
    Oh yes!

Which was part of the reason for having my bathroom adapted and having a swivel bather installed. Apart from the fact that standing for long enough to shower was a nightmare in itself, there was also severe risk of me falling if I tried to move in the shower with my eyes closed.

Phew! It's just taken me a good half hour to catch up with the thread.

BZ and S/E, the thieving wotnot has pinched all my spoons as well. Do you think we could set up some type of snare for him and get them back?:D
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • Do you think a strong magnet would do it? After all, with all those spoons on board...

Right, got to go and do some stuff. Catch you later folks.

There must be some sort of trap we can set...

Ditto. I slipped and smashed my knee in a very awkward fall (my shower is over the bath) a while ago and now I'm very dubious about showering when there's no one else around...and as I live alone...

I used to be the same, the shower and when I'm swimming is the only time I can deal with water on my face...and that's only fairly recent.
I would still rather open one eye or the other...
