I use a PDA (personal digital assistant) for reminders; it lives in my handbag and squeaks at me as necessary. I have all my weekly tasks in it, as well, on a "repeat" as I'll forget to do things like changing the bed (yes, honest
)
My husband bought it for my birthday a couple of years ago, and I wouldn't be without it now.
The one I use is a Palm Tungsten, but there's loads of others available - good for if you need your reminder system to be totally portable.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

I'm currently knitting a cardigan, and I've only got half a sleeve and the border to do, but I'm having trouble keeping the pattern straight, and my hands and concentration give out after a coupe of rows. I started it in June or July - at this rate I should have it finished by January..:rolleyes:
It's great to know that people are still keeping the old traditional crafts going. I recently finished a lovely little Fairisle cardi for my GP's daughter who was a year old in October. It was purposefully quite a cultural conglomeration (ooerr missus) a Tyrolean pattern (nearest I could get to his native country) knitted predominantly in red as his missus is Japanese and that's their lucky colour. They took a photo and gave it to me with 'Thank you' in three languages on the back (including English);). I have now just finished another first size cardi for our mechanic whose partner is due to give birth anytime to a baby girl. I made a lovely Aran jacket for DD1 and I'm just doing the sleeves on a bolero from the cover of November's 'Simply Knitting' magazine, which for some reason was a real b*gger to get to grips with. In fact the sleeves are still giving me hell as it is a lace pattern and working in the increases is somewhat tricky:o.
I swear that knitting has saved me from a complete mental breakdown on more than one occasionand coincidentally........... did anyone see the second part of Horizon last night? I have to say that I did better than the psychiatrists at spotting those who had suffered mental health problems - but I've always thought psychiatry was the study of those who don't need to be studied - by those who do :rotfl:.

That's a great idea Lame Wolf, I used to have one of those little organiser thingies - pre PDA times, but I kept forgetting it and then I forgot to get a new battery in time so I lost the info on it
. Now I rely on a pack of reporter's notebooks from Staples or Stationery Box and leave them jotted around the house with little notes on them.
I really should get something with an audible alarm though as I have to renew my pain patches every 72 hours - if I forget I end up with horrendous withdrawal symptoms - so maybe it's something to write on the present list this Yuletide.

I'll leave you to make of that what you will.s/e0 -
All recent mobile phones have calendars in them with repeatable alarm/reminders... that's what I use to tell me (with warning as well) when my appointments are too. I'd be lost without it and would probably miss every appointment too. Truly portable and without carrying an extra gadget (providing you have a mobile phone I guess

I'm rather worried now. OH has just rung and thinks that he's going to be made scapegoat, once more, for some hash up at work. He hates his job (or rather the people that make it hellish) and wants to get out quick before disciplinary type hellishness ensues... but I also know what the job market's like."I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -

I didn't see it, but I know what you mean.
I've always found that people who take psychology courses are trying to find out more about how their own brains operate than anyone elses. And yes, I did do Psychology A level."I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -

Is he a Union member? If he is, he needs to start taking advice from them asap.
Sorry if this is teaching granny to suck eggs, and I hope it doesn't come to that.s/e0 -

He's worried because he knows he's been daft (he's actually very intelligent) in not keeping lots of records etc that he'll need in proving that he's covered his @rse!
