well lm sure l had mild symptoms for years but it surfaced big time and has stayed since l was assaulted by a patient at work-suffered injury and Post traumatic stress. At round about same time brother had massive disability after brain tumour surgery ,hubby was ill and then finally l found breast cancer and had mastectomy and chemo -sure there has to be a connection?:j this money saving is such fun:T0

Well, I am relieved to know that some people also get the itching burning bruising thing! But does anybody else get this burning all over the body?:smileyheaMagenta0

yep l do magenta- and so do lots in the group l go to so your not on your own. I get horrible electric shock feelings in arms and legs which are horrible-most hated symptom is outside being freezing cold and clammy to touch but inside feel on fire.seem to cope with the pain more than this -as it makes me feel exhausted and ill:j this money saving is such fun:T0

Sharon59 : the electric shock feeling drives me crazy!! And the inability to control body temp is also v annoying. I hate when I'm aching so need to keep those bits warm, but the rest of me is boiling.
Does anyone else get really violent hiccups randomly? Perhaps more so when you're more symptomatic?"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
Parsonswife8 and Nearlyrich - welcome :hello:
I don't think the only cause is road traffic accidents. I'm sure they have their place in the possible cause list though. As with ME they don't seem to really know what causes fibro, other than that distruptive sleep pattern cause a lot of problems, but whether thats a symptom which causes other symptoms or not... who knows...?"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
never had that Bigzippy but somewhere amid the brain fog lve read about it-may have been on the FMuk site.
Can l be brave and ask about a rather embarrasing symptom -anyone got leaky bladder problem with the fibro?
not that l have of course just asking for a friend !!!!:j this money saving is such fun:T0 -
Lol, Sharon, my friend has this also!!
Went to docs today, to try sort out meds, my butrans patches have been upped, but you know, when you know, it's still not gonna work, well I'll give it a try for now. Can't remember who said they were on Pregabalin, my doc looked at my list of meds and we said we would wait till next time to see how the butrans go. Used to be on Gabapentin, was for a different reason, but was desperate to come off it but can't think for the lif of me why! Take Care all my me me's x0 -
Is Pregabalin and Gapapentin related?
Twas me that said I've been put on Pregabalin...well, I will be when I've weaned the Amitriptyline down... The GP did say that Ami "drys everything up" so I should feel less sickly and like food is stuck in my throat after I've eaten (which is really beginning to drive me mad)."I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
Thanks for the welcome bigzippy
For years I've had a sort of numbness and tingling in my entire left thigh.
Sometimes I get a kind of electric shock there which will actually make me jump. Then I get such numbness that I can dig my finger nails into my flesh and I can't feel anything. With the sciatica on the right side and that shooting pain from by behind to my ankle and the numbness and electric shock thingie on the left, it's just ridiculous. I'd really love a brand new pair of pins for Christmas!Felines are my favourite

I take Pregabalin and it has been wonderful. I was put on Amitriptyline a long time ago but it made me ill and really didn't agree with me. When I was first put on Pregabalin it was on a small dose and when it proved to be making a difference the dose was increased. A short while after taking it I can feel it working - it eases all over pain. I wouldn't want to be without it.;)0
