hello all
a quick post from me [yeah yeah i can hear you saying that will be a first
] but after working this morning, then shopping and preparing jacket spuds for tea im on my last legs lol. My eyes are closing as im sat here so i think whilst the kids are busy im going to have a nap ... thank goodness they are now old enough i dont have to watch them constantly
im not 'lonely' as i have people round me all the time, at work, family and friends but none of them ask me to go out socially as they know theres no point any more! Also no one quite understand the way you all do *happy fibrohug* i just think this is a very lonely condition
i have been getting some 'odd patches' on my skin for a few months now that come and go and change places, theres nothing at all to see but i was trying to explain to dh that its sore to touch and feels sort of like i have been burnt but theres nothing there at all. The most recent was a large patch on the top of my right thigh.
not quite the quick post i said is it? oh and hello to the new people
have a good evening everyone, i have a feeling im going to be dozing on the sofa all nightmondays always leave me washed out

 Yes! I get these on my shins and the tops of my arms!
Feels like a burn even though the skin is barely warm. Have also found that the hair on my legs no longer grows where these patches have been. I had forgotten about these til you mentioned them!
Pleased you aren't lonely and have people around you and well done for achieving everything you have today.
Had a good day in the end myself - got quite a lot done and a friend popped in a couple of times for a chat and cup of tea while he was taking a breather from work. I apreciate it as it breaks my day up a little. He's quite tall as well, so I take the opportunity when he's here to get lightbulbs changed etc in return for the drinks and biccies.
As usual, have forgotten to defrost anything for dinner - I can't get used to having a freezer again. Plumber is coming to put in dishwasher for me on Wednesday night and cardiologist on Thursday, so a full week for me!
Didn't manage to fit in a nap, so will sleep well tonight.
Hello to all newbies and welcome.
Am contemplating moving and making some soup, but I think I may just start it off and finish cooking it tomorrow as all the chopping gets a bit much after a while.
Have a good evening everyone.

(Btw, longforthesun, hope you're not too sore from your bump!)
I'm back from the GPs now. He's told me to wean myself down to 20mg of Amitriptyline and then start taking Pregabalin (sp?) with it and hopefully that should help..? I've taken some Omeprazole off him just incase I still have the horrible 'food stuck in my throat' when I've eaten thing. I've taken a script for tubagrips off him too, to help with the carpal tunnel/tendonitis type pains in my wrists (particularly). And he's given me a different combi inhaler for the asthma that I hope will do the trick... I asked him for something to take when everything goes into spasm and I wanna rip my fingernails out to get to the nerve endings but he said the Pregabalin (sp?) should do the trick. He wants to see me in a month to see how I'm going on it, but I said I'd be back if it didn't work... "I fully expect it" lol :rotfl: He's gonna rummage through all the letters on my file and see what the immunologist said to see whether he can send me to the allergen specialist... And I asked to go back to the specialist that first diagnosed the ME cos she said she was setting up a special ME clinic... but I've not heard anything else about it... so I'm gonna harrass her about it
Gonna go eat some tea now.... that someone else has made YAY! :T"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
I have real all these posts and have cried.
I had a very responsible job with a large American Stockbroking firm for a number of years, in another country.
I then emigrated on my own with my young daughter, had to try and sell my house, organise the shipment of our possessions and find a new job and somewhere to live.
I rented a privately owned flat, when here. I worked overtime on Saturday mornings and even some Sundays.
I had 3 nodules on my thyroid, had a fine needle aspiration which apparently proved inconclusive.
I had my thyroid removed. My own children found it hard to look at me after the op. After the shock of emigrating and that kind of major operation, I went to pieces, from having been a woman who was a single mother, having been in a good job and being well respected and having my own home.
I ended up having about 9 falls, being on crutches after 2 of them, even in the snow, on Prozac, having one to one therapy for more then a year, and lost my job.
I have been through hell and back, trying to get housing for my daugter and myself when losing the rented flat, having repeated falls, ending up in hospital with pneumonia and pleuresy etc.
I was lucky, I met a man and we got married.
I have had subsequent falls after this. My knee is swollen and sore. I have panic attacks. I had a bad fall two years ago and that really messed me up.
I am sore 24/7 and cannot sleep. I toss and turn all night as my legs are sore. I have sciatica.
I also have dreams.
In the past 2 months, I have hit my husband in my sleep, when I have dreamt that I was being attacked.
I dreamt that I shot a dog who was waking us up with his barking every morning, at around 6.30am. Just when I was in a nice sleep.
I dreamt that the gas cooker blew up and sat up in my sleep, shouting "Oh my God!"
I apologise profusely for this being all about me, but it is all about me!
This is not easy and I have NOT been diagnosed.
Where will it end?Felines are my favourite

hi and you are welcome here and its meant to be about you so please dont apologize at least here you will find others who understand.
Maybe if you are given a diagnosis then that would help as its sometimes easier to understand and cope with if you know what the enemy is.Please go to your GP and ask for referral to rheumatologist and get blood tests done -they dont prove fibro but tell us what it isnt.your symptoms sound familiar and reading the thread seems to have struck a chord with you to.
please keep posting here we are a friendly lot.pm me any time as well as l am about most of the time.
sending gentle hug

[I was gonna mention this actually... you know when you have an itch (typically on the legs) and you scratch it (especially through clothes/jeans etc) does it just hurt far too much like it's a bruise you're scratching? I'm not sure if it's cos I'm scratching through clothes (although not always) or cos I'm scratching too hard for my nerve endings to cope with these days, or whether it's part of the condition....?
(Btw, longforthesun, hope you're not too sore from your bump!)
Hi not too sore from the bump it just stings for ages afterwards.
It feels like the area is badly bruised even though it isn't.February 2013 NSD - 40 -
parsonswife8, you are amongst friends here, so please lean on us and vent all you need to and let it all out here, in a safe place. where people will understand.
You sound overwhelmed at the moment and I think we have all been there at one time or another.
I second the previous offer, PM me if you feel it would be helpful - one or other of us is likely to be around.
We may have creaky bodies here, but I think we all have big hearts.
Wishing you and all a restful night.
Jo

Thank you so much for offering your support and for reading my tirade.
I have had another bad night tossing and turning. I am due to see my GP on Thursday morning as I had a blood test to check my kidney function and need to see her about the results. I also have high blood pressure and cholesterol and the blood pressure tablets can apparently affect kidney fun ction.
I am also due to see a consultant early in December for the results of a CT scan on my lower back to try and find the cause of the sciatica.
I haven't been able to sit down in the bath for more then a year as I fell backwards the last time due to severe knee pain when I was trying to get out. I just missed banging my head on the back of the bath and hubby had to come and haul me out. I now sit on a plastic foot stool in the bath and wash but I yearn to be able to lie down in some some nice bubbly hot water.
Feeling like this day and night just wears me down as it is nine years since this all started.
It is truly unbeleivable just how many of us are having our lives affected by aches and pains and not being as mobile as we would like. I don't go out alone anymore as i am too scared of having another fall.
Have a good day everyone. The sun is shining here and that cheers me up.
And thanks again for your words of support.

How many of you lovely people think an accident typically a road traffic accident started this? I had an accident in Aug 2000 and started getting pains just afer that.
I have been doing so well recently but had a guy run into me yesterday and my car is a write off so it was a big bang, today I am hurting everywhere and I know tomorrow will be worse.0 -

I'm sure that a trauma like an accident, a divorce, a serious operation, a move to another country, losing your home or a bereavement can be the start of these kind of health problems.Felines are my favourite
