I'm with you on the Demons thing Trialia (besides the awful name too, lol). Haven't got into BG, but it doesn't help that everytime me and OH went to his best friend's he had it on (in an ignorant way) but halfway through series etc, so I had NO idea what was going on - and therefore quickly lost interest. We might've had this convo already, but how old are you (if you don't mind me asking!)?
I don't think we have, and no, of course I don't mind. I'll be 23 in a little over three weeks' time (February 10th). And you?Homosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. Do you need more?0 -
Hello pebbles and welcome. You sounds really distressed, but you're here amongst friends now and can moan and let off as much steam as you want - and have a giggle too!
Yes, stress does seem to make all the pains worse, but I'm not sure if it's that our tolerance of the pain is lessened when we're under stress.
raeh, this is just the right place to be "me, me, me". Hugs to you (and lots of choccie).
I think a lot of us are struggling at the moment. Time of year? Let down after Xmas? Economic worries? Who knows - we're all just a bit down, eh? I think we all need a bit of TLC to re-charge our low-grade batteries.
I have one particular chap I know who everytime I see him always asys "you look so well!". It drives me crazy, but perhaps I can try to take some comfort that I'm not a supporating mess with bits dropping off left right and centre even if I feel like death warmed up!
I've been feeling quite, isolated, I s'pose, not quite lonely - just feel the need to have someone to speak to and a little company iykwim. I've always been passionate about reading, and I can't even be bothered to do that most of the time. Am having to push myself to do anything, even though I know that, mentally, I feel better when I do.
I quite like Demons even if it is a bit dumbed down. It doesn't scare me as I'm a horror film veteran. *grin*
I think I might watch the new BG series when it starts as it is the type of thing I like. My big pleasure is Lost, though. Can't wait for the new series.
The storms here last night were magnificent. We had one that rumbled round for ages before coming right overhead with lightening that lit the whole sky and massive thunder rolls. No power cut though, for once!
Caught up on sleep last night so, even though I wanted to do the ironing, I'm gonna have a lazy day. I can't iron after dark as these blasted low energy lightbulbs aren't strong enough to iron with! Does that make sense?
Lots and lots of hugs to those of you who are feeling the need, and those who aren't!
p.s. Oh dear - I wrote a whole chapter!I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
you need higher watt low energy bulbs miss axe. my ceiling light is one of those crap things that takes 3 candle bulbs so i have can only get them equivalent to 40 watts and even 3 of them is not bright enough for my liking (nor are the 6 in the kitchen). but i have a lamp, one of those floor lamps with a reading lamp and a top lamp if that makes sense, reading lamp is another candle bulb but other one has an equivalent to 100 watts bulb in it. so much brighter and better. upstairs also has the 100 watt eqivalent bulbs. i do hate ow they take a while to brighten up though, i can come down int he middle of the light and i ahve made a cup of tea before the ceiling light in the living room is bright enough to see by.
that was an essay lol sorry.
how do you auto fill forms? sometimes they show up when i type the first letter, but more often than not they dont.0 -
Hi pebbles and welcome
you do seem to have a lot to cope with at the moment and that will make pains [seem or are?] worse
bushbaby's advice was good, try and see a different gp? that has helped me a few times just to get a new perspective on things? and i do what jamla said, pace things... have a rest before and after doing things, i need to sleep at the moment every afternoon after finishing work at lunchtime to give me the energy to face the kids after schoolthen again what ever advice il dish out here i always end up over doing things myself anyway and at the moment im so tired i often cant sleep at night [maybe il just listen to my chapped lips neighbour and get myself a good nights sleep and everything will be ok
]
Auntie Axe thank you its a good place to come this and let off a little steam and the choccie is an excellent ideai hope you are feeling better soon too, im sure it is just the time of year and also the cold grey weather. i did a bit of retail therapy myself ...online of course :rotfl: after yet another struggle with a can opener i have treated myself to an electric opener
i dont open too many cans apart from cat food and most have the pull thingy but still make me feel useless when i have to ask one of the kids to help  also got a deep fat fryer just because it was a bargain, we dont really eat chips but maybe it will be nice for a change occasionally [must make mental note to stay out of the grabbit it now section:p ]
pcl i have the google toolbar and that has autofill on itdoesnt work on all pages but does on most and if i have used a form before it remembers what i typed? I also hate waiting for energy saving bulbs to warm up
i better think about putting the chicken in to cook for tea but i just have no energy/ motivation today and its too cold as well!
keep warm everyone xx2009-£7500 2010 £10800 2011 £2000

welcome Bushbaby -can only agree with advice others have given you. Also have a look on FMUK web site and that may help a bit-you could print off relevent things and show GP.Have you applied for DLA -its worth a try if you are struggling with things and potentially need help-even if you dont actually recieve it.
please carry on posting here-we are a supportive bunch and happy to have happy post along with ones saying how it really is which is great as we tend not to want to burden family etc as often they dont understand
sharon x:j this money saving is such fun:T0 -
raeh, hope you got your goodies from John Lewis. If didn't like you so much, I would be dead jealous about your Big Snap wins. I played for months and never got a thing!
About 8 years ago, my employer (and friend) gave me £400 JL vouchers for Xmas and one of the things I got was a beautifully soft leather jacket in a classic style. I still wear it to this day. I've been thinking about suggesting you get something like this for yourself as a treat.
To those asking about form filling for comps, I use Roboform which is excellent and can also manage your passwords.
Sue, you're right about the stronger lightbulb, but part of the problem is that the light is only a one bulb thing and with a high ceiling, the light dissipates iyswim.
In a selfish way, it's nice to people posting here more regularly - it really cheers me up and make me feel less alone when people are around on this thread.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
Evening all,
BZ I reckon pain is pain is pain - we all go through it and some days are better than others. Some research claims that those with fibro have a lower pain threshold than normal - but I don't think that's true at all. Just as an example - I have a couple of tattoos, one on each foot and even some blokes I know (including the tattooist) have said I must be 'hard' to have had these done as it's one of the most painful places since it's a really bony area! In all honesty I didn't really feel much at all apart from a mild tickling/scratching sensation.
I agree Unity, I had 3 kids with no pain relief, apart from a couple of gasps of gas and air with the 2nd one, they all came too quick
Well Sharon and Suep - here's one from me :grouphug:. Yes Suep I watch 'Demons' too - but haven't seen this week's episode yet as I'm just catching up on 'Celeb Big Bro' and will probably watch it tomorrow as it's on the Sky+ planner. I think the scariest thing about it at present is Philip Glenister's fake American accent:eek:.
I agree, its bizarre isnt it, I am such a wimp though I get scared watching Dr Who (still)
Oh, one last thing - it has started to get quite blowy up here too and it's quite scarey:wave:

Ah, well. That will happen with Galactica! It's not the kind of show you can pick up mid-season and understand in an episode exactly what's going on, you'd have to start from the beginning if you wanted to understand it. *g* Complicated as hell, but absolutely worth it. (Also, I am getting to meet Mary McDonnell in about three weeks, and I am incredibly giddy about that! :-D)
I think once I'm in the new house and I need to make myself relax from overdoing it during the move/wedding faffing  I'll make myself sit/lie on the couch and plough through them. OH's best friend (and our best man) has the box sets so shouldn't be too bad. I might end up doing the invites and order of services at the same time, like
M'Afraid Mary McDonnell means nothing to me at the moment (gimme a few weeks
), but I'm guessing it's one of the main chicks in it? lol

RoxsiScotland is around the same age as you from memory...she doesn't seem to have been around a lot of late though...hope she's ok...?
Just gonna eat some tea (I had a rather late "afternoon" nap:rolleyes:) and then I'll be back for the other posts!"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
Hope you don't mind me butting in as you all seem such friends but could you recommend anything that would help my mum who is 76 and has fm? She finds it very depressing and painful and seeing your thread made me wonder if in your experience you had some tips for my poor mum .Thanks very much for taking the time to read and answer .xXx-Sukysue-xXx0
