Aww I'm so jealous! I'll have to bug OH about it, maybe we could go for a second honeymoon sometime
I think we've discussed my States trip before...so I won't sicken you again
I've still not got off my butt to do any packing or sorting. Oops!"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
Hello everyone!
Those fingerless gloves sound good! so do the legwarmers! I can relate to the headache thing . I had a really bad headache yesterday and the day before and kept waking up with one. It goes right behind my right eye. I think it might connected to fibro in my neck/shoulders. It eased off later on which was just as well because I went to the cinema with mum and saw 'bedtime stories'. It was great and was funny. This prob was to the fact that I had been wolfing down co-codomol, or it could be the Adam Sandler effect-I don't know!
Snap with the water- I just love those pint glasses! or any kind of glass as long as it has loads of water in it and I can drink it!
Does anyone else have hip bursitis? I 've had for ages and am sick of it. I get injections but they wear of and being young they don't like to give me then too often.
Hope we are all warm, toasty and not too achy!:j:j:j:A:A:A0 -
Hi again Elmostreet!
To you and all those who get the horrendous headaches...particularly at night... do you suffer worse nights' sleep at the same time? I've had really rubbish sleep the last few nights and I'm getting really sick of it.
I was recently given a different brand of Amy-on-a-trampoline and have had worse sleep problems (sleeping too late in the day and getting to sleep FAR to late and waking continuously through the night) since. They're not that reassuring Smarties E number/colour blue either...which disturbs me greatly. Worryingly enough."I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
The doc put me on the Amy things a couple of years ago and the next day I had to be hospitalized (sick as a dog, head blowing off and horrible auditory and visual hallucitions)the hospital doc put me on Citalopram which I have taken ever since.(they also have side effects):smileyheaMagenta0

BZ, my Amy is blue. I'll have a look at the branding sometime today and see if it's the same as yours.
I've been sleeping really badly, but have been getting too hot. I think it might be night sweats as I've been having up to 8 hot flushes during the day and evening. Trying to decide whether to go to GP to see if I'm Menopausal or firmly Peri-Menopausal. It's really disrupting my sleep, waking 10/11 times a night absolutley boiling hot and trying to find a cool part of the bed.
Off to take Uncle for a walk on the beach this afternoon. Oh Joy.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
Apologies for the epic post - I've just sent it and realised just how long it is, so came back to add this bit. If you have just got this far and don't have limitless time, best leave it till later LOL!Careful_with_that_Axe wrote: »It is the Aurora Borealis BZ. Unfortunately, it's not a holiday, a 5 hour flight round to Norway from Exeter and to wherever they predict they will be at the time.
It's something I was going to do as a holiday with my 2nd ex-DH, before we split up. I'm pleased I'll get the chance to go as it's something on my things to do before I die list.
There's no guarantee that you will see them though. I will be bleedin p'd off if I don't!
Also decided am going to go to the States sometime this year to visit cousin and aunt.
I'm not entirely sure where the money is coming from for all this yet! But I'll move heaven and earth to do these.
I have decided firmly that this year I will take part in life as much as I am able rather than let it pass me by.
CWTA I would love to do this - but with my luck I'd end up with an aisle seat :rotfl:.
I'm busy playing catch-up with e-mails at present , since DD2 has now gone home. She was ill with flu over New Year and DS damaged the medial ligaments in his knee for the third time in a year, so neither were up to celebrating. DD1 went back to Glasgow on 27th so at least we then had enough bedrooms for everyone.
Of course reading through the posts quickly is a bad idea. I managed to get quite alarmed after seeing CWTA's post to BZ - "BZ, my Amy is blue". Daft b*gger that I am I thought, surely you should get her to a doctor. Sometimes my family swear I am not wired up right - especially after my famous pronouncement on Eric Clapton's autobiography "Well it's okay but in my opinion it's a bit me, me, me!"
Suep - how's the flu? I hope you survived New Year. I'm glad to say ours was very quiet - which is just the way we like it, although we did get some drunken man in a white leather jacket knocking at the door asking for a light . Talk about a seventies throwback . Hard lines for him as none of us smoke, although I did wonder if he was someone just checking whether the house was inhabited.
Elmostreet - yes I too have bursitis in my hip and a bone cyst in the opposite thigh so I haven't even got a good leg I could swap with you, so you'd have a good pair. I also get problems with swelling, but I've always put it down to the arthritis as the medics say: "There isn't any swelling with fibromyaliga" - but that's only if they admit it exists at all of course
.
PCL - It must have been wonderful to escape the winter weather, the temperatures sound like our sitting room where we have a multi-fuel heater burning free wood :rotfl:- sometimes it gets so hot we have to sit with the door open to let the heat into the rest of the house, but it does help with keeping the gas c/h costs down.
Raeh - The socks sound wonderful, I was out on Friday and it was so cold I was just saying to DH that I'm going to start wearing thick tights under my jeans to beat the cold.
BZ - I love the idea of those mittens!:T Best present I bought was a Russian Ushenka hat as worn by their army - I got it on-line from Sovietsub for DH as it will withstand temperatures of -20 and is really toasty - okay I'll admit it, I have borrowed it alreadyand am waiting to hear if they are restocking the ones their Navy use as these are in black. The best present I got, was from DD1 - a bottle of perfume "Just Grapefruit" from Arran Aromatics and it's lovely. She'd remembered I'd mentioned some research to her months back - that grapefruit perfume has the bizarre effect of making men think you are ten years younger than you are
. Well it must work as she bought some for herself and her latest date was with a man six years her junior
.
LW - I am possibly even older than you:eek:. I did reply to your e-mail, but maybe your filter sent it to 'junk' - this has a habit of happening with me
.
S/E It's great to hear you have just been busy - 4 ply is a b*gger, I usually only knit baby clothes in this nowadays, although, I have one unfinished shrug in a Rowan 2-ply which I will get finished before summer;). I have just adapted a pattern in Paton's Art for work on circular needles as I am sick of stitching up :rotfl:. So far the main part is going well but I have never knit totally without seams so I think it will be fun when I come to do the sleeves and add them to the mix at the raglans. Any tips gratefully accepted.
Jamla I am going to tackle the decs with DH tomorrow. It shouldn't take too long - but then we have to see about getting rid of our old furniture via Freecycle, decorating the sitting room including all the white paintwork (large old skirting boards ) etc. before getting new carpets fitted - then its' the same in the dining room. When I say "we" I mean that I will of course be supervising and telling him where he's missed a bit.
Magenta - That sounds like an horrific experience on Amitrip, I know they made my nightmares much worse but nothing like this, it's really scary . The worst thing I found was the craving for chocolate and resulting weight gain, also not something I'd want to repeat.
Sorry if I have missed anyone - you all know what it's like if you venture into the 'real' world- with firbro-fog you never know if you will find your way back!
Love,

Been doing some more filing and sorting and such in the house today so not even looked at the computer til now... Unheard of!!
Saw a house to let online last night that we're quite interested in and hoping to go see tomorrow...so fingers crossed! I'm pooped now, I think it was supervising OH cooking tea that did it...not the showering and filing and such, obviously
Might bob in later, but if not, enjoy your nights and I'm sure I'll be back in tomorrow when I don't have to hold my eyes open with matchsticks (hopefully)."I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
*wanders in and waves a little* Newbie here, hi
I have FM, too - just got officially diagnosed, though in hindsight my doctor says I've probably had it for three years - I fell down a flight of stairs and damaged my lower back, and haven't been out of pain since. I also have ultradian/rapid-cycling bipolar disorder (NOS), migraines, asthma and generalised hypermobility syndrome (at the point of a lot of pain by itself).
Oh, and I'm 22. *g* Yep... I am so used to people saying I'm too young to be this ill, and it makes me crazy.
bigzippy - I recognise that line in your sig! D'you find it at BYDLS?Homosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. Do you need more?0 -

Hello all.
I have been a member of MSE for a while but new to this thread! I have Fm too. As well as High BP and kidney problems, plus anxiety and depression.
I am about to apply for DLA as hubby is taking over more of the chores like cooking etc that I used to do. The pain in my hands neck and shoulders is often just incredible and I work at a checkout! I don't think I will be able to work for much longer, and I only do 12 hours a week now!0
