Morning all. Sorry to see you were up early again pcl. This week I've been up earlier a few days and, although tired, I wonder if it suits me better emotionally. I see more of the available daylight and feel far more motivated. So long as I have a snooze late afternoon. I may try it next week.
bz, just coz SIL2B didn't want to go to Primark, you could still have gone!
Grim *grin* for your ex finding his Mum like that. Poor chap, what an awful shock.
How nice that you're considering fostering etc. My contributions are strictly limited to small financial donations to kids Hospices and Air Ambulance and the ocassional bout of data input for Oxfam's ebay shop and helping out at CPL. I don't feel I can sign up for regular volunteering as they need a dedicated schedule and with the vagaries of health .....
I'm glad you're having a good time. I'll record Strictly and X Factor for you just in case and, if you want/need, I can stick them on a CD and post to you.
You have no idea how relieved I am that someone else has a hanner type thingie in the car. I did feel I was just being weird with that!
Have a little bit of a "productive" cough today, and wonder if it's from the smoke, but other than that I'm fine today.
I told you if you wrote me life as a soap opera it would be unbelieveable! I seem to lurch from crisis to crisis!
We've had flood, fire, now what's next? Feast or Famine? Or perhaps a plague of Locusts *grin*.
Raeh, we're thinking of you. Hope you're OK.
suep, Sending good thoughts to your Dad, you and all your family. I did have some documents on dealing with sode effects of Chemo and will dig them out if you feel they may be helpful. You can have a metallic taste in your mouth a lot of the time and it sort of gives advice on what foods to avoid that exacerbate that. Sounds like you have good support from Unity, but we're all here for you too so I hope you never feel alone in dealing with this.
Must do hair before heading out, so I'll see you all later.

Aww raeh, sorry to hear you're suffering. It's like that saying the only bits tht don't hurt are the bits that don't work  Sending you lots of hugs.
Hope you're getting nicely looked after and are staying warm and wrapped up.
I mistakenly took two doses of Tramadol yesterday rather than my usual co-codamol and diclofenac and was woken up throughout the night with the itching you have all talked about. Never experienced it before and it was a bluddy nuisance.
Had second lot of laser blasting to my cheeks (as opposed to sand blasting) and Consultant thinks that, apart from a top up maybe once a year, that will be all I need. Not so many blasts this time and of less intensity, so not half as sore as last time. The things we suffer in the name of vanity eh.:o
Catch y'all later

Afternoon all, Ive just got back from dropping OH to train station, he is going to Brighton with mate for a concert so I get a nice quiet night in with the dog and get to watch X Factor in peace without his running commentry
Thankyou for all the good wishes, prayers, thoughts and positive visualizations for my Dad,it means a lot to me. I wasn't going to say anything at first but you are all so friendlyand supportive here. He's waiting to hear when he's going to start the Chemo, it should be in the next week or 2 so yes please to CWTA about the Chemo document if you can find it.
Also I think the hammer in the car is a good idea, Im going to Worthing to see my son and his family tomorrow and will be going into Wilkinsons so I will see if they have any cheap hammers.
Raeh I hope your feeling better soon

Sue, I'll look it out. It may take a wee bit as it's an another laptop that the battery has died on, but I'll make every effort to find for you.
I am glad you did share this (getting all American). Personally, I think at times of additional stresses it's important to reach out and take as much support and help as you can from wherever it's available.
Talk about it as much or as little as you are comfortable with and know that we're all sending all good thoughts and prayers the way of you and your family.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
Well, there you go - I'm happy to be here and alive, having had one of those afternoons where your life flashes in front of your eyes _pale_.
We went to go out to Argos and dammit the car died again:eek:, so DH had to get our breakdown service out. Well over an hour of waiting , but at least the multi-meter confirmed the battery was on it's way out. Got a jump start and went to the discount shop to pick up a new one. DH decided the best idea was to come home and fit it and that was where it all went horribly wrong.
Has anyone else ever been in the position of driving round a fairly fast one way system only to have another car pull out of a side street, turn into the lane you're in, only in the wrong direction - heading straight for you? Am I the only one who thinks some pensioners should know when to give up driving? I was so stunned that two minutes after I wondered who the young bloke was waving at me - it was only DS!:rotfl:
I swear I was still shaking an hour afterwards.
Anyway the battery got fitted and away we went to Argos where our Nectar points got us £52 off the bill and we got a £10 voucher - happy days :T.
Now, having just watched my team lose 1-0 to Man. U. I'm going to settle back and watch the rest of X-Factor.

Dont know if this still thread for fibromyalgia but have been diagnosed with it and depression and on meds for both. I get IB but have been refused DLA as the DWP doctors seems to think nothing more than that there will be no long term problems and that I could go upstairs to get my meds for her.
Depression keeps me housebound so having problems and giving up on appeal unless someone can do home visits. Are there any people like the CAB who would visit to help with appeal?0 -
Welcome Dontbeawageslave
I can't help with your query, but I'm sure someone will be along who can.
We've covered life, the universe and everything in this thread, but it was fibro and other related medical problems that brought us together here, so stick around!
Unity, what an awful day for you! Is the imagined crunch of the cars hitting each other echoing in your mind?
Horrid scare isn't it.
I only tend to watch World Cup football matches nowadays, but did have some fondness for Arsenal up until a few years ago.
Hope you have a restful evening.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -

All I can advise is don't give up - a lot of us had our first claim turned down only to have DLA awarded on appeal.
I don't know if your local CAB can do home visits - all I can suggest is that you phone them and ask.
You say you get IB - have you had to fill out the longer form for long term IB? If you have (and you still have a copy of it) add that to your DLA appeal papers.
I'm afraid the impression I get with DLA is that a lot of people are turned down first time round, and frequently, when you get the papers and read how the decision is reached it's because they've 'misinterpreted' what you've written, so you really need to go through the decision papers and pick up every time you find what they say doesn't correspond with what you said and correct it.
I'm afraid it's going to be hard work, but if you succeed it'll be worth it in the end.s/e0 -
Dontbeawageslave - I should think they would come out to see you to help with your appeal. I had someone from CAB come out to me to help me fill in the DLA forms as I was housebound at the time. Ring them and ask. Good luck with your appeal.
CWTA - Thankyou hun, Im glad I did share my news with you all
Unity - OMG !! How scarey for you both, I hope your feeling better now and dont end up in a flare from the shock. I know what you mean about some old people not knowing when to stop driving, where I live is known a Gods waiting room, you always know when your nearly home as the car in front is going at 20 mph, even the tractors are faster lol
