I could never have given such a comprehensive answer and it has also helped focus my mind on the best way to fill in the form. Thank you.
Is it quite rare to get both the care and the mobility awards? From what I know of most of us on here I would have thought we would meet the criteria for both.
I honestly can't answer your second question. I now get HRM and LRC, but for my first 2 claim I only got HRM. I do know people who've been awarded the Higher Rate of Care and Mobility, but not many of them, to be honest.
As I understand it, in order to get the Higher Rate Care, you'd need to be in a positon that would require almost 24 hour supervision, and an inability to more or less do anything for yourself without assistance. So those of us who do pretty much fend for ourselves (mainly through bluddy mined determination, or a total lack of interest from the caring services) seem to get penalised. Having said that, I'd rather not be in a position whereby I've got someone watching over me all the time. I had a 'friend' who took it upon herself to decide that I was virtually incapable of fending for myself, and who used to almost hover over me waiting for her chance to call the ambulance and it was positively smothering.s/e0 -
Erm... Does anyone else have a Hotmail account, and did they log in today to discover that all their emails have vanished without a trace, and only got the bog-standard 'welcome' email that you get when you open a new account?
Strangely, when I go to my options, it tells me I've had an account since 2006, but there's nothing in my inbox, except my welcome mail. Although the few contacts I've built up over 2 years are still there? Odd.s/e0 -
No s/e, nothing like that has happened to my Hotmail account? Can't think what on earth that would be.

I did look at their FAQs, and according to them it's either because I haven't acccessed my account in the last 3 months (I have, I was there at the beginning of the week) or it's because my emails have been downloaded to another account (I don't have another hotmail account).s/e0 -
How annoying. Can you go through your history and see if you can go back to a cached page? Or is it likely to be T/S to the rescue?
Well done for finishing DLA form. Must be a weight off your mind. Struggling with mine, so have resolved to sit down tomorrow and not get up again until it's done at least in a draft form.
I'm just sitting here wondering if the nail in my tyre is from the toolbox the astronaught let fly off in space. What would be my chances of success if I tried to sue NASA?:rotfl:

After thinking a bit more about it (and talking to T/S, after all there was the vaguest of possibilities that something he'd done while operating on my pooter might be responsible) I did attempt to contact them to find if there was an issue that might have caused the problem. There doesn't seem to be any way of getting technical support - if it's not in the FAQs they don't want to know. I've send a request via their 'feedback' form (if they're expecting glowing words of praise when they read mine, they'll be disappointed), but I'm not holding my breath waiting for a reply.Careful_with_that_Axe wrote: »Well done for finishing DLA form. suep(t), *grin* you mean you don't say "OK, yah"? I'm disappointed. My Sis lives in Buckinghamshire and tries so hard to be all "Henley".
Got some whoopsied mince today and will make Shepherd's Pie tomorrow, but have always made mince base with a minestrone soup mix (!). Anyone tell me how to make a traditional one?

Leave that to simmer for a while to let it reduce then put in a casserole dish, topped with mashed pots and grated cheese and bung in oven at high temp for 30 mins or so.s/e0
