Oh Raeh. Sod had got his hooks into you at the moment, hasn't he? Never mind, look on the bright side - one more accident and you could get a whole new car out of it.

[All right, I'm going, I'm going!]

:rotfl: thats just what we were thinking!! the cars only 3 months old though

  • hey all :) it is funny how you have a voice/accent in your head for everyone on here. im on the outskirts of edinburgh, so not a really broad accent but not as refined as most of the central edinburgers heh. ive got loads of mad old scots sayings i use, probably cos my parents are older and they use them - i like "yer goan yer dinger!".

had the doctors today, blood taken and poked and prodded. dont you just hate having to give a urine sample? here you go, heres a tub of my pee, enjoy!! lol :rotfl:so cringey. doc confirmed i do have fibro and not m.e. as previously thought, although same difference to me really. however it did mean i was finally prescribed something, going to be trying the anitriptyline (crappy spelling?) tonight.

wrap up warm everyone, find a furbaby and cuddle up :) x
  • Roxsi, at least you have a definitive dx for forms etc and something to say when people ask what's wrong.
Hope you get on OK with Ami. I've found it really helpful, but only take it at crisis stage as, well I'm not quite sure why, but I do!

I'm all wired up today to a 24 hour heart monitor. Knowing me, it won't work properly or record anything.

    Stay snug

I cant stand people like this, can I smack this one as everyone else is queuing up to smack raehs neighbour
Be my guest mate! You might want to do it with a big stick though... she's a bit stinky :silenced:
:rotfl: Unity, I think BZ might have taken your comment on being Methusela's Sister seriously if she thinks you're old enuff to remember the original Mickey Mouse cartoons!. Shall I slap her in the nicest way possible? Ah, the youth of today
How can you slap someone nicely? You know full well that wasn't what I was suggesting, you little stirrer *sigh*. If "the youth of today" knows what the original Mickey Mouse cartoons looked like, then you lot surely do. ;)

BZ you might want to bear in mind when getting a CD player for car whether you will be able to hook it up to the cables for the wand on the steering wheel. It would be awful to get something and then be disappointed that you can't use the control.
I don't get chapped lips, so it must be the Pegywotsit. :D
I also know what you mean about forgetting to take tabs in the mornings. I take the bulk of mine at night, so when something is added to the mix that has to be taken first thing, it gets forgotten more often than not.
Cheers dude. It's not being forgotten - it's another reason why I want an original Renault one - then I don't have to fork out for expenny fitting or adaptor cables either.
See Raeh, told you it was all pregabalin's fault! ;)
I left my tabs for the morn out in an obvious but dog friendly place, so I'd remember to take them...only to find that MIL2B moved them! Luckily the fact that I knew there was supposed to be something there reminded me that it was the tabs I was supposed to be taken.

p.s. We talked about local sayings. Do any of you have regional accents? I have mental pictures of most of you and this would add to them.
I don't think I do, no, Axe. I'm a bit like you - travelled about a bit. My folks were from Coventry but I was brought up in Southport & near Manchester. They'd lived in Belgium for a while and we went over there a lot etc. I'm one of those annoying people that picks up accents within 20mins of speaking to someone

suep I always think of your name as Soup! I have given up on mutli-quoting too. I read the instructions and they just don't make sense to my poor addled brain.
Thank goodness someone finally said it!! :rotfl:

Bloody ell raeh, who've you upset recently! See if you can screw any extras out of them to make up for the inconwenience (I only ever hear that in my head in Allo Allo style).
No, BZ, not those type of extras. Get yer mind out of the gutter.
How on earth have I managed to build up this rep so quickly?! I thought I'd been tame...

I've managed to cook again...tasty Thai Green Curry with rice. Yummy. OH suggested halfway through that we'd have to get poppadoms or naan breads next time...so guess what I want now?

Took the mobility car back today:cry:, so we're down to my [STRIKE]new[/STRIKE]old scenic. Also went to docs. OH's been given a 2wk sick note. Doc said I did have a burst blood vessel in both nostrils  got some cream. Told him about what the CBT therapist was twining on about on Monday and he looked bemused. So that'll be 3 of us then (incl OH of course ;)) Trying to get a CBT person closer to home. Has anyone done CBT here?

Dude, I'm with you. It's GRIM (*grin*). It's esp grim when it's time for Aunt Irma to make her monthly visit and you have to explain that :o
I hope the Ami makes a difference for you. It helped me (esp initially), but I recommend taking on what others have said about it on here as you might find you experience side effects and want to try soemthing else (not that I'm trying to cast doom!)

  • Roxsi, the bit I hate most about giving a pee sample is the fact that it's warm when you hand it over. Don't ask why that bothers me coz I couldn't explain.

BZ Delighted that OH has been signed off for a while. Poor bloke. Hope it means you can spend some quality time together. Hope the nostril cream doesn't make you snore.
BTW, I turned up at hossie at 12.30 for a 2.30pm appointment today. If only I had a brain.
Hope you had a good night out last night.

Even though I haven't been that active today, my feet are really aching. Am pretty tired so looking forward to a lie in tomorrow. Have a pounding headache, so should be pretty easy to bring on one of my funny turns for the monitor.
And for my next trick .........

  • p.s. Did see a CBT type person once and he told me he couldn't help me! At the time he said he wasn't suprised that I was depressed and it was a totally plausible reaction to what was in my life at the time.

That doesn't help, that's true. Plus it's always a see through bottle. And you always have to find some way of getting it to the recipient without being too obvious what it is or risking it spilling in your handbag...

Didn't even think about it making me snore! Lol. OH said that the night before last I was snoring so much/loud that he considered going down to the couch! It is (I have to say) unusual for me, so guessing my sinuses must've been inflammed as I have had sinus headaches lately. Although he did say that normally he's asleep before me so wouldn't know if it was different :shhh:

My CBT person was pretty much the only treatment that the specialist(!) would/could suggest for the ME. So far I have to say I'm not seeing any immediate benefit. She just tends to do my head in, to be honest!
I was pleased that a few medical professionals have said that they don't believe I am depressed, but that it would be a natural reaction/implication to having the massive life changes out of my control etc.
It did make me feel good, that I hadn't crossed that line, but doesn't mean I don't give OH cause for concern at times :o
