Not sure about the answer to question 1, probably best to give them a ring.
Re question 2, have you already ordered and received your card reader, card and PIN? If you have, when you log on, on the accounts home page, next to the summary of your balance under Savings and Accounts, there's a "manage" button, click on that. On the next page, at the left margin you'll see a list, select "payments". On the next page you're given several options. If you haven't set up the payee yet, select "view, amend, delete or add" or if you have already set up the payee, select "make payment".
If you haven't yet ordered and received the card reader, card and PIN, you need to do so in order the set up the above process. However, if you need to make a withdrawal without these you can ring them and they will process the withdrawal over the phone. You can order the card reader online, this automatically generates a card and PIN, these will be sent to you over 2 or 3 weeks. Go into "manage", and I think you select the "make a payment" option, but I can't remember for sure (if it's not that option, scout around and you'll find it somewhere), and you are asked if you'd like to order a card reader.0 -

Got my card and PIN, but no reader yet. Can confirm that the card will work in other card readers (I have tried with Natwest and Nationwide). Interestingly though, the PIN notification that came said the PIN can be changed on the reader, but no such option exists on the other readers I have...updated software on the Tesco reader perhaps??
No sign of any points yet...I sent a faster payment on the 28th November but it's showing as 1st December on my Tesco statement. Ah well, the deadline extensino is good news for me I guessI have put some more money in now though...6% (even though soon to drop to 5.1%) is an excellent instant access rate at the moment.

The process for getting clubcard points if you don't already have a tesco clubcard and don't already have a tesco savings account is as follows:-
After you have sent on your initial cheque with the paperwork, Tesco then send you another letter asking you to register for internet banking. You go on to their website choose "register now" rather than "log in". It then asks you for your tesco clubcard number which you leave blank if you don't have one.
You then have to print, sign and send back a letter to Tesco generated by this on line process of registering. This is the stage I have reached but they should then send you your final log in details and you can finally access the account.
At the end of November they check your balance to see what points you qualify for. If you have not entered a tesco clubcard in the "register now" process they then send you automatically a tesco clubcard. And then in February the points are added to this new card.
Obviously if you already have a Tesco clubcard you enter it at the "register now" stage and they know to add the points to that card.
I found this out by calling the Tesco internet savings helpline on 08457 104010 so the above is dependant on this info being correct.
To update my position as someone who didn't have an existing Tesco clubcard. Tesco have sent me a clubcard (unprompted) which arrived today.
You can check points by going to https://www.tesco.com , clicking on the card picture next to "clubcard" at the top right of the screen, click on "for sign up today", click on "your clubcard account". You can then enter your card number and postcode to see your clubcard account. Haven't had the points added yet but they are supposed to appear in the February statement.MSE. tesco have now increased the deadline date to 31st dec, so all those who have not yet put the money into the tesco internet saver can do so and still get the club card points.
Warning! Just called Tesco and they say the points taken from the account value on the 31st of dec is not valid? They say their website does not quote this however they know one website does, this one!
Sorry if this has been discussed already in the thread some where but I have not found a mention of it yet.
Maybe Martin :money: can give us some way to claim from this date with his information?0 -
