  • Yes I agree with your observation. I sent back all the paperwork together with a cheque for the opening deposit on the 18th November. Realising that funds had to be in the account before the 30th November to entitle you to Clubcard points I tried to contact Customer Services last week on several occasions. The phone was never answered! On checking my internet bank statement today (1st December) I notice that the funds have now been taken. Does this mean that I have missed the deadline for getting my points? I am wondering whether it is all a scam.

Tesco has reassured me that sicne it is due to delay on their part they will honour the points deal as long as money is put in the account, even after the deadline date.
Its not a scam its just that they did not quite understand the power of this website!!!...and got overwhelmed with the amount of applications.

  • I needed to transfer money back to first direct in time for my £1000 credit card direct debit going out on Wednesday 3 December. Got to 1 Dec and mega worried that can't transfer money. Ordered card reader 13 November. Received card reader and card but no pin so telephoned today to transfer funds.
The number to do this is 0845 7104010. Done easily with no problems. I thought I might have to argue as this is an on-line account, not telephone. Of note, transfers can be INSTANT (ie use new fast payment system) so no BACS delays.
Ageing is inevitable - maturing is optional :p

I just called 0845 6000 873 and explained that I couldn't access my Internet Saver account online due to this, and they spoke to the Signature Verification dept and "verified" it there and then. Phoned up again later to do a one-off transfer.

I now have to order the card reader and wait who knows how long for that to arrive. (15 days, allegedly)

I applied then received the letter to sign on the 7th Nov and sent it back the same day along with a cheque, on the 26th they finally sent me a letter saying my account has been opened and to register on-line so i can login and print out a document to sign then send back which i did and sent back the same day. Today I received a letter with the activation code which i used to activate my account successfully and noticed my cheque was cashed in on the 25th so kinda relived it was before the deadline, I just applied for the card reader so have to wait for that now, btw don;t you need a card to insert into the reader? i guess they will send me one soon.

That's an awfully long time to have cash sat in a current account waiting to be debited. Have you quantified the loss?
so kinda relived it was before the deadline...
Do TPF operate cheque clearance at 2-4-6 or 2-6-6? If the latter, your funds won't have *cleared* in time for the 30/11/08 deadline.

Just wondering if anyone has had the clubcard points added to their card yet?
After the obligatory wait/signature letters frustration I finally got the funds in to account before the 30th, however the points have not been added to my clubcard account.
Just wanted to see if I'm being impatient or if other people had the points added.
    Thanks!

the amount I deposited is showing up in my TPF account so i assume it has been cleared?
