Got the two phones I'd ordered today 20th. Ordered them on the 11th. I was getting worried they wouldn't arrive for Xmas. One's for my Dad, I'll leave that on Virgin, but the other's for my Mother in law. She has an old phone on Orange but it's a bit too complicated for her. I'm hoping I can get that one unlocked (Browntoa?) so she can use her old sim as it has credit on it I think. Ive got another on order, (awaiting stock) for myself to replace my nokia 3210 but after playing with this one I'm not sure. The keys seem a little too close together for my fat digits. I tend to use my thumbnail rather than my finger and I'm not sure if the keypad cover wont mark badly quite quickly. Do others have trouble with pressing the keys or have they found the keypad membrane a bit prone to marking.

Ordered a Nokia 1100 on Sat, with free delivery, quoted dispatch on 20th.
Checked website 'tracker' and last night at about 10-30pm it changed to 'has just been sent'. This morning (at 7am!!) the postman was knocking on the door!!
Inserted my O2 sim and we are up and running. T-mobile card and details are just in a seperate package, so no 'locking' problem, it appears.I say what I like, I like what I say!0 -

Hi clock, I thought it was Virgin that was default provider. Mine is Virgin anyway, It arrived yesterday. I need to know how to enter part code in letters and figures, I've PMed Browntoa in hope that he can pull me out of hole. He sent me unlocking code but I am unable to enter letters after first figure which is "#". :xmassmile0 -

justpaper, thanks for your help, I downloaded the little Nokia unlocker thingy and got that information from there, I awarded you with a thank-you :xmassign:
I'm just getting to read your full post now. I didn't use the Network changer code, is it neccessary to do that. I have made a call with them to test and seemed work OK although it took longer than normal to get through.0 -

My thanks goes to Browntoa and justpaper for their invaluable help in getting my phones successfully unlocked. I do appreciate that. :xmassmile0

I'd just like to thank Browntoa for the code supplied. Worked perfectly (though I can't understand why you have to input the numbers so quickly).
That phone was a xmas present. Mine is on order and I see from previous post they're back in stock. It seems a nice little phone. When I put my sim in the 1100, it gave a stronger signal than my old Nokia 3210.
On a slightly different note. I bought a USB sim card reader as I wanted to backup some SMS messages. It copied my phone book ok but only got about one line of each message. The software was "USB Super GSM Reader II". Has anyone else used this software or can someone recommend another program that might work.

LongJohnBaldy.
Apologies, I got mine thru Amazon (paid the £2 extra, as the other vendor was out of stock at the time). But the fact that I didn't need to mess about with unlocking makes me think it was easier, as it turned out. Still a bargain!!I say what I like, I like what I say!0
