£17.99 from play.com - no credit
£19.99 from amazon.com - £5 credit
£19.99 from carphonewarhouse offline - £5 credit.
Obviously, when considering free credit, this is only going to be relevant where a person chooses to actually use the particular network (ie Virgin in this instance). If someone chooses to use a different SIMcard then the free credit on the new SIM (whether pre-loaded or upon registration) is irrelevant (unless you can manage to sell the SIMcard for a few quid).0 -
I only went off someone elses posts about credit.
The phone I have purchased has a T-Mobile Sim card with £5 free credit on it. You'd be a fool not to use the free credit before putting another SIM card in it.0 -

A related question however. Has anyone had a problem actually fitting the SIM cards on this phone? The card appears to squash between the battery and contacts without any proper slot for fitting. I have spent hours attempting to make either my old or the new SIM card contact properly. It seems to work if you pack the battery compartment with cardboard to apply pressure onto the contacts. Or perhaps, there is an easier way and I have missed something obvious?
:xmassmile We had no problem with sim cards, fitted like a glove. Virgin and o2 same fit.0 -

Thanks LongJohnBaldy, no-one else can work out how the SIM card fits in.
so I have come to the conclusion that a fitting is missing or come loose inside the phone.
I will have to send it back0 -

There should be a hinged metal clip0 -
Yea cepheus like Redk1ng says, there is a metal clip that lifts up on one side and sim card sits in and clip holds sim card in place. There is actually a little "click" noise as clip snaps back into place. But you have to be observant to hear it. I hope that is clear enough for you to read. HTH.0
