Yippee still on LUS, :T so happy that somehow I keep falling through the cracks in BT system. last quarters phone bill was £16 :j and that's great as obviously I did ring some people over christmas. long may BT keep forgetting to switch people away from LUS
  • PGShick I am still wondering why I was taken off LUS and you were not. I don't really miss my BT landline, but if they had kept me on LUS I would not have cancelled it.

They will get you eventually as LUS is overdue for being terminated.

I agree they probably will get me eventually, but if I'd filled in their damn forms or panic swapped when first receiving their letter nearly 2 years ago I wouldnt have had so many more months of getting LUS, when they eventually swap me to another tarriff against my choice I will then terminate my bt line, so any more months I have with it are good surely

Assuming you meet the criteria for benefits

Am I right in saying you must use BT for phone calls and not another provider using CPS like talk talk or 18866 for example
Hi Heinz, all applicants for BT Basic need to meet the correct criteria for the plan and after this is met they would receive an application form with a specific ID with reference to their account. Unfortunately without a valid form the order for this service would not be accepted.

Are there any other providers like talk talk doing something similar the 1st post suggest there maybe

Some MoneySaver not on BT have reported getting a similar deal to this from their provider. Simply call up your provider, mention the BT Basic details and see if it will price match. Click reply ro report your successes below.

You cant use indirect access numbers like 1899/18866/18185 ,and their are no other providers offering a similar service.

  • Does anyone know when the Low User Scheme will end? Surely it is long overdue. I am sitting tight and still on it but have switched to paying by direct debit so when I get transferred onto a normal tariff I don't get stung by their £4.50 charge. I will not be eligible for BT Basic.
