    Hi

The ING Spokespersons post will go in the front post.

Just to note I know some people have said "why didnt you post earlier". Actually the spokesperson did register earlier, but then realised it broke our rules and didn't post. It was only when I specifically invited him to post today and gave permission I found this out - so to be fair that's not something to have a go at.

From my perspective, we are now in a position with a firm deadline. To try and push that forward isn't going to work.

On friday afternoon I (or Dan - as Im sure you realise we're working together on this, and other commitments mean Im out of the office) will be back here to check no one is missing and everyone is satisfied.

As said before we are going to see this through until everyone has their cash. And we now have a more open door with the spokespeople at ING (who I should say, personally do when I speak, seem to be keen to sort this out).

    Martin

Thanks to Martin Lewis for this input. I wish things had been done earlier of course, but I can onoly assume that ING had a very difficult time sorting this mess out. I was in a panic until about 5 p.m. tonight when my money arrived. It's a weird feeling getting it back; i feel I don't want anything to do with money again! But I know how the rest of you feel - waiting. But things sound very confident now. I've spoken to ING 3 times today and although they sound confused, they are trying hard to ensure it's sorted very soon now. There is no doubt that no one will lose money (or interest, or fees) so we (now you) just HAVE to wait a bit longer. Good luck
  • Forgot to add Ill definately be visiting other threads now Im totally addicted and feel I know alot of you now:D good luck once again

I think I may be in for a good night's sleep tonight.
Just had a call from Alastair Hemmings. He informed me that all payments will leave ING by Thursday 23 October, definitely, as per statement from ING spokesman.
I did ask if it might be possible that the database still be set up and customer service team given information that we are on that list of savers still awaiting payments.
And for those of you on about CHAPS £20 refunds and lost interest, as soon as us, still waiting for our cash have been paid, they will then start to redress these issues.
I, for one thought Mr Hemmings sounded genuine and sincere and will put my trust in him, at least until the end of the week. ;)

    That sounds like good news.....

Glad to see lots of money arriving in destination accounts. I transferred £35k online to First Direct 4/10/08 via CHPAS expected it to transfer on Mon 6/10/08.

I could see the storm coming and hoped I had jumped in time, seems not!

Still not arrived, I am wondering if mine is the oldest transfer still lost?

You have to feel for the poor people on customer services, getting 8 hours of grief every day with no information and on top of all that, their jobs are probably about to evapourate as the TUPE'd over Kaupthing callcentre will be closed and ING call centre is reduced in size due to general retrenchment of ING due to cashflow (+10bn from Dutch gov.) & reduction in selling of financial products.

I firmly believe that the delay in payments was caused by 1 reason only, lack of cash. The money has now started to flow again due to recent 10bn cash injection. (And I believe a behind the scenes tapping up of AD - "you sold us a pup, we want more money")
    Good luck for the future.
    Rogcay.

    Me.

And I cannot understand, Mr ING Spokesperson, why we are now having to wait until Friday at the earliest for our money? Are you using our money to keep ING afloat while you wiat for your government's resuce money to come through? I can think of no other reason...

Actually I was waiting for my money only received my transfer today! Chaps on the 8th. I notice you BACS transfers were later than this date so technically I have waited longer than yourselves! Im glad you will be reunited with your money Thursday/Friday! Just trying to get some closure on the CHAPS charges and lost interest so we dont all have to hang around and wait!

F**k me, give it a rest. There are loads of us here who did CHAPS and waited longer than BACS people, not just you.

I'll pay your interest and £20 CHAPS fee as long as you shut up about it. Send me your account number and sort code and how much interest you are out for the 12 days you have waited.

Edited to added: As I mentioned a few days ago, I defy anyone to claim they were thinking about CHAPS fees and lost interest when we all scrambled to get money out of a rapidly sinking Kaupthing Edge. Most of the accounts that we wanted to transfer money to pay a big fat 0% anyway. Add the days in transit for the money back out to Northern Rock or wherever and the actual lost interest is b*gger all. If I get mine back from ING, it's going to charity. Every penny.
