Just spoke to someone at Kaupthing Edge re my missing CHAPS transfer initiated on Oct 7th 12pm which has not arrived in my bank account. Jennifer at Kaupthing told me that "less than 5% of customers have not yet received their withdrawals and that they plan to "pay all CHAPS transfers today by close of play". Close of play is 8.00pm tonight. Lets hope it will come to pass. Also £20 fee will be repaid into savings account.

Hi, The same goes for me. I have voted (Not Received) but am only allowed one vote , but the same goes for my other half and her own account, she is unable to vote so how do we make everyone show up in the poll ?

Yeah. I spoke to Jack at ING customer service just now. He said CHAPS payments would arrive either later today or tomorrow. . . .

    I'm not holding my breath.
    Where now?

As per others with CHAPS missing, made it on the 7-10, disappeared from the KE account early on 8-10, still not arrived in linked LTSB account despite assurances last Friday.

What I just cannot understand is why those who initiated transfers with BACS have received their funds, but the people who paid for fast CHAPS transfers have had nothing.
    .

Mine was by BACS - nought but an email so-far! I figured CHAPS was likely to be a waste of money as there would likely be delays to all payments. As it turned out, having the CHAPS system as an intermediary would probably have been a good idea.

I remember in the 1980s living in Sydney Australia being able to transfer any amount of money around the system instantly and with no additional fee. Why do we put up with this CHAPS/BACS system? I can order items online from the States, pay for them electronically, have them delivered AND return them unsuitable and get a refund on my card in less time than it takes for one crappy bank to send my money to another. They pretend it's rocket science when in reality it is the most mundane everyday event happening millions of times a day all round the world. Every single way they can they screw us.

No - neither me, nor husband have received an email from ING. (we are awaiting CHAPS from 7 Oct).

I have sent emails today to ING and to BBC's Working Lunch to highlight our worries.

    PS Thanks Martin.
I have voted in the Poll but can't vote for my other half as well as am naturally only allowed one vote. Therefore the poll results won't show up everyone, if that makes sense!

Just spoke to a lovely young girlie at ING .

No information apart from Ing do NOT do CHAPS at all . They don't have the capability .

So if my wonga was sent Friday by BACS I'll probably get it Wednesday .

    Or not .

Already made my burning torch and have arranged to borrow a pitch fork .

Yes, Working Lunch no help - didn't even make the point that missing payments are nearly all CHAPS from the same few days.
IF ING would just acknowledge this point we'd all feel happier, as it is we've no confirmation that anyone is really taking this point seriously and we are invisible like our payments!

I still believe ING are unaware of our early CHAPS payments hence why nonoe has received a phone call or email! ING are obviously aware of the later BACS payments hence why some people have received an email.
It will be interesting to see if 1. Anyone from the early CHAPS has received their money by close of business today and 2. If anyone has received an email or phone call.

If none of the above time to panic!

With the number of people caling and emailing them I am sure that ING are fully aware of the early CHAPS payments even if they do not know where the money is
    BACS requested 8/10/08, received 17/10/08
