I have just received the following email in answer to an irate email I sent on Monday.
Thank you for your email regarding a withdrawal.
We have been working hard to clear the back log of payments and the vast majority of these have now been made. However, there are a small number of payments which we have been unable to process so far due to administrative issues within Kaupthing Edge.
Kaupthing Edge in the UK is being run by Administrators and we have now received their confirmation that all outstanding payments will be released by Thursday 23 October and we would expect these to start arriving in the destination bank account on Friday 24 October.
Thank you for your patience and we can confirm that customers will not lose interest as a result of this delay.
Your money is safe and secure and our priority remains to restore normal service to all customers.
Yours sincerely

Hi all..
Bit new to all this but osted last night to say I had logged a complaint with the AFM who are the dutch financial regulating body.
They quote on their website that they try to promote honesty and transparency within financial institutions. I personally feel that had a more honest approach been adopted by ING with its consumers initially, a lot of anxiety could have been avoided. If anyone else feels like writing to the AFM the website is:
www.afm.nl
sorry i forgot to include that in previous posts.
P.S. Just opened todays newspaper onto page with advert fearturing ING's "award-winning call centres"....lol0 -
I'm still here but don't want to clog up the thread. I just hope that come friday everyone will get their money.0

I requested that my bond be transferred back to my savings account on the 6th Oct. this was only 4 days after I had taken it out well within the time I get to change my mind. I phone every day and send emails every day - to date no one has had the decency to reply to any emails and the answer I get every day is much the same they do not know when these bonds will be released. It is a very large amount but well within the limit that was covered by the fscs IN ENGLAND, I feel somehow the government sold us out I would not have invested in Kaupthing had it not been covered by the British system. Can we ever believe what they say now.
(Scotland as well, I hope! LOL) But yes, I'm seriously annoyed as well, but I do think part of the problem is that a lot of folks (myself included) decided, subsequent to IceSave's probs, that it would be a good idea to get savings back to a UK base (in spite of the FSCS 50k guarantee... I know, I did it too), but it is a systemic thing. Society has many "systems" that operate in a statistical way - the telephone system - we cannot ALL make calls at the same time (try to 'phone your friends a few seconds into the new year) and the "telephone system" will collapse. The "energy system" - we cannot ALL turn on our heating / showers / cookers etc to full blast at the same time - the "energy system" will (come close to) collapse. We cannot ALL take our cash out of a bank at the same time - they dont hold our 100% of our cash - they gotta "invest" it ( hahahahahaah :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: ) or at least a LARGE percentage of it in order to give us OUR interest payments..... I know, it sucks!!!! But I think the folks that sold us out, well, yes I do agree - it WAS the government (but not because of the problems we see right now in settling payments via FSCS / Treasury / ING , rather their lax and laissez-faire attitude that has existed for years to the monitoring bodies such as the FSA, who SHOULD HAVE STEPPED IN MONTHS, IF NOT YEARS AGO to STOP the banks from PLAYING WITH OUR SAVINGS AT THE ROULETTE WHEEL of internationally traded CDS's and other mystical financial devices and get back to safe, sensible investment strategies (and, sorry to say, probably lower, but nonetheless SAFER, interest rate returns...) )
OK - haven't posted for a while - leaving the forum to its own devices... just thought looking at all of this from another viewpoint might be of interest.... don't flame me - just thoughts... good luck to all of us!The 'Mad' refers to my state of mind, not my degree of anger.... (still crazy after all these years)0 -
I'm not posting much now, largely because the tension is getting to me. I will be back on Friday to whoop and celebrate!

Snap with Gary and many others, checked again at 3pm, still nothing for me too, and no 5% email either.0 -
Still no sign of anything come through for me today, perhaps a day to day poll could be set up so that at least we know how many are TRICKLING through?
Ippylady, just wanted you to know that a lot of us who have been paid are still here and will be until everyone gets their money. Hope it's in your account today!!!0 -
I agree Bill. I think we arin a similar situation aren't we? (moving to country and local builder etc - that was you wasn't it?). Have you actually moved yet? Ours is taking a bit longer than we thought - good on one hand as we need the icesave money for deposit but at least we managed to get KE money last fri. On the other hand we were actually meant to move before the banks collapsed so if we had our money would be well out of all the banks last month and I would be OWING money!!!! Hmmmm I don't have any pigs or chickens like you - any ideas what we can offer the builder if it comes to move time and no money????0
