Kaupthing Edge Chaps/Bacs Transfers NEW discussion

I have to confess I've been following this forum and the old one since this all kicked off. I made a CHAPS transfer (10k appox) to LTSB at about 1030am on 8th Oct. I've still recieved nothing. The £20 CHAPS fee was directly taken form my KE account and the KE account shows NIL balance. As I could read on here that many had phoned KE and later ING I never jammed the phones as well.
I'm not desperate for the cash but I do have sympathy for those that do. I also don't have too much doubt that we will get our money back.
My annoyance will be that I don't want to have to jump through any hoops for the return of the CHAPS fee and also, (As it appears to have happened to some) the return of a second CHAPS fee that seems to be taken from the transacted cash. If and top bod from ING is reading get that sorted. Don't make us waste our time phoning you or writing to you.
ING in general have been pretty poor at communicating the problems. Why give a dead line of Fri Oct 17th and put a sorry little "get out of jail free card" of "some may take longer. Why not just put you'll all be paid by Nov 31st if that's the day it is. (Yes I do know how many days November has.) Come on ING be honest.
I'm not sure I'll ever trust a foreign bank again. I closed my own account in ING and KE as soon as Icesave crashed and the Icelandic government reneged on its agreement. Do you think Holland would act differently? If the chips are down governemnts look after their own first. Holland in the EU? Well so is Ireland and it broke ranks pretty quickly when it protected all savings and I haven't seen the EU doing anything about it. I don't personally think the EU is strong enough to withstand that kind of financial chaos that we'd be in for ING to go down aand at this moment in time who'd bet either way.
So come on ING, more info on the web site and get those CHAPS fees returned ASAP.0 -
I have a reasonably large CHAPS transfer from KE that is still outstanding from 07/10. I get the sense from the threads that where people have outstanding transfers and indicate the sum involved that these are generally large sums. Is it possible that there is a shortage of available funds and that the administrators have still to make available all necessary money hence smaller transfers are being given priority?
Will more money be made available on Friday (24/10)? Is this why Friday is being given as the transfer day?0 -
Just logged on after having a bit of a break yesterday
- did anyone get anything yesterday? Started reading back through the threads but it is so fast moving!
I have not received an email as yet from ING saying that I am in that 5%, but have received one from the FSA quoting...
As you may be aware, the Treasury has used its powers to transfer the accounts of the Edge depositors of Kaupthing to ING Direct. We have been advised by ING Direct that any transfers from Kaupthing Edge will be processed as normal. However, if you are experiencing difficulties then you should report this directly to the ING Direct customer service team on 0845 848 0282 .
BEEN THERE - DONE THAT!
Still no money for me, but staying hopeful - is that optamistic?0 -

Hi everyone, I have just received my large CHAPS from the 6th Oct, so I hope for those of you who haven't yet received yours that the wait will now soon be over. I have left some in ING but after this farce I think I will be looking for a new home for the rest!0

It wasn't in when I looked yesterday around 19.30 so I guess it arrived today! Hopefully things are finally moving, I never received an email from ING so guess wasn't one of the mystery 5%. I can't understand why ING didn't keep us all more informed it may well cost them business! This has certainly been a sobering experience.0

Don't leave us in the unknown!!! Which bank is your linked account in? Was it transferred as CHAPS or as BACS (even though you did ask for CHAPS)? Did arrive this morning or you just noticed it today? Did they take out £20 fee from the sum transferred or not?... So many questions, don't know when to stop!!!!Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -

Yes I did withdraw money from my ING account on Monday, just checked with NatWest and it arrived in my account yesterday, hopefully things that side appear to be running smoothly.0 -
