Kaupthing Edge Chaps/Bacs Transfers NEW discussion

Just what I thought: payments by Friday 24th is just for starters. In other words, another miserable weekend ahead for possibly many.
This is because all payments are being treated as BACS, and they will not be instantaneous.
Payments on Thurs and Fri may well not show till Monday. Remember, Martin has said he will stay with us, and we must trust him. I do.:j  :j0 -
I would like to echo ontheruns sentiments and apologise for any upset caused last night. There didn't seem to be many people around and I wasn't aware we were annoying anyone, having read the posts this morning I can understand it must be irritating for anyone trying to catch up the next morning. Again I would like to apologise, I will stay in the back ground quietly supporting you all. Good luck everyone...
It didn't upset me although I do see what Martin means and if you are new to this thread it might've been confusing/annoying. However, many people have been posting on here for days and there's a limit to what can be said when nothing has changed much since Monday...
Hoping for better news soon for all those who haven't received their money yet.0 -
So - um - one of the theories we floated in that other thread was kinda right - ING Direct haven't been paid in full for the KE liabilities ....
Oh well. Given that that's the situation, there's really no point in agitating ING about it, because there's diddly squat that ING can do until they get the money...
Thanks for the thoughtful post, dag, but the latest and current ING Direct position is (with my emboldening):
"Kaupthing Edge in the UK is being run by Administrators and we have now received their confirmation that all outstanding payments will be released by Thursday 23 October and we would expect these to start arriving in the destination bank account on Friday 24 October".
It's enough for me to read that, for the time being, without worrying whether ING was paid enough, etc. Chins up & cheers!0 -
I did not get the 5% email.
Thanks for the apologies about the banter - I nearly complained last night but did not want to be considered churlish! I only joined this thread yesterday, as quite a few others have. It takes HOURS to scroll through it all to read the very useful information posted, so irrelevant stuff is quite annoying!
CHAPS 8/10 to Natwest. CHAPS fee debited 9/10. Small sum left in account.0 -
Has anyone attempted a transfer recently from an ING Direct a/c and was it successful?
Apologies if this is not the appropriate thread on which to ask this question but, like most of you on here, I have "lost" money from KE and do not want to add to my woes and I do want to transfer other funds from ING!
Thanks all.0 -
I am caught in both camps ING and KPE. Having just sorted the B&B debacle which I have just reinvested in (no choice in the time scale), it was amazingley smooth compared with this mess.
Have "chaps" outstanding from 10th and not convinced Friday will sort this. I will also pull my ING investments on Friday. It was interesting to see how far you get up the chain when you mention you are already an ING customer. After all ING have put their name on this. Will there be any investors or money left to take over, let alone how many ING customers have jumped ship already.
Where is the blame I put it squarely with the government not enough rules to govern foreign banking in this country.
What a mess. Good luck to all involved and special thanks to those who have helped my sanity over the last few days.

I too support all those caught up in this icelantic mess.0 -
I also did not get the 5% email.
I have watched this thread from the begining, I did find last nights banter a bit annoying - my sense of humour is not what it normally is at these stressful times. But great to see we still have the support.
CHAPS 7/10 to Natwest - Still waiting0 -
Just in case anyone is interested, I have been using BACS for the last few years to pay over 100 people their wages every week. I have until 9pm on a Tuesday night to send the file of payments to ensure that everone gets paid on a Thursday morning.
Some of these employees call at the cash machine on their way to work (they start at 7.30am) to draw out their wages and never have I had a complaint that the money is not in their account! So really BACS takes only one full working day to arrive.0 -

Would anyone beable to let me know if there were any payments credited into accounts yesterday. Can we expect any to come through today or have they all stopped until Friday? Thanks
Yes, I've made two withdrawals from KE and the second one arrived yesterday (into Barclays). Very pleased to have all my money back. Good luck everyone still waiting.0
