Sorry, I can see how my last post was a bit unclear.
The transfers done as BACS have gone through, one way or another (seemingly as CHAPS according to you guys).
The transfers done as CHAPS have mainly not yet gone through.
This is APACS's understanding, but there is no explanation of why the faster transfers are taking longer!Former MSE team member0 -

That *might* explain why all the BACS transfers have gone through and none of the CHAPS.
If indeed ING does not support CHAPs payments, but the do support BACS, they were able to put through all the BACS transfers for Friday.
So now I reckon they have to initiate BACS transfers manually for all the CHAPs requests.
That's my theory anyway. Though it is confusing as I was watching the thread on Friday and the BACS people said their payments came through as CHAPs.0 -
I've just had a useless phonecall with Michael at ING.First he said all payments that were outstanding from Friday would have the money in our accounts today. When I asked if it was being sent by BACS or CHAPS he said BACS ????? When I asked how could the money be in our account today if sent by BACS he jut reverted to the blurb he had be given ie we have been told all money will be in our account today.
I won't hold by breath otherwise my hubby will have a funeral to worry about as well as our cyber money

CHAPS on 7th October still no payment no communication from ING apart from e-mail on the 15th October advising that I would receive my payment by COP Friday 17th.0 -
£5,293,778
165 transfers.
I will only add you to the database if you ask me directly, I don't want to double count and i need date as well as linked back and amount (if you're willing)
At least this shows it's a systemic rather than individual problemCHAPS 8th Oct Rec'd 20th Lloyds TSB0 -
I have just spoken to an 'informed' FSA source. He has confirmed that:
1 The FSA is aware of the unpaid CHAPS situation
2 It is working closely with other bodies (including the FSCS and KE) to 'achieve a resolution'
3 They do not have a defined timescale for the resolution of this issue
4 They are aware of the various Forums and are viewing these!
I have advised him that many of us are unhappy with the disinformation/inconsistent messages/poorly managed communications forthcoming from ING - all of which have only served to fuel people's concerns. A point he has acknowledged.
He is now escalating the issue further up the FSA and has committed to call me back later today. He is aware I am posting his responses on this Forum. For the moment, I have agreed not to disclose his name to enable him to get on with doing something to help us.
I will keep you updated.
Hi y'all. He has just called me again and has been able to confirm that:- The issue with the CHAPS/BACS transfers is NOT an asset issue, but an operational/records issue
- The FSA and FSCS and 'government representatives' are working with ING to resolve the issue
- In terms of timescales 'we are talking days, not weeks'
I would suggest we continue to lobby the FSA/Treasury/Media to get ING senior management involved in putting together a co-ordinated communications update to customers. Calling the ING Direct call centre will be fruitless - these poor guys are not in any position to help you...and are being kept in the dark by their own operational management teams.
Suggestions anyone. I am happy to help out in any way that I can. I also live near Reading....home to ING0 -

This is nonsense - Fixed rate bonds are still not broken so they are definitely not in the clearing process :mad:0 -
Not all BACS have gone through. My wife and I had 1 each on 12/10 and 13/10, but we have had yesterdays email.0

Let's hope we can get some clarification very soon on why they have not gone through and when this will definitely happen. No more offshore banking for me :rolleyes:0
